A lot of people mentioning Garner wanting to join this staff and it does make sense when you look at the hire by GA.

-Grantham coached Cowboys Dline..so what does Garner do? Does he keep that position but have someone watching over his shoulder the whole time?

-I know Richt wants him but just like Kippy; Garner may feel slighted for never being a candidate as DC

- We need a Dline, DC, or Recruiting Cood..plenty of options

-Garner, Lance and Dooley could absolutely dominate the state of GA with those connections.

Damn, Nashv. That is a DEFINITE thought, right there. I think you are ON to something. We not only would be instant top-shelf in GA., but in most southern states. CDD should make a run at RG. Great idea, brother.

Hoping that soomething comes of this, as Coach Garner is and excellent recruiter! He'd be a tremendous asset to the new Tennessee Coaching Staff!

I would like to see Garner given Co-DC along with Lance.
Sure would like to see Chester McGlockton hired for DL. And keep Lance as LB's coach as well as Co-DC. He deserves a promotion, IMHO.

I was not in favor of Dooley getting the job in the first place, and even less in favor of him trying to fill the remaining positions from his previous staff on a losing program like LT. I will be pissed if he does that.

That would signal to me, like Hamilton did with Dooley, that he's putting staff loyalty above getting the BEST prospects. I think he signalled that we should not expect to get the best, cause he likely plans to bring in his own guys, from LT.

This program ain't going to win any recruiting battles bringing in coaches from LT. That's the long and short of it.

How is Garner as a coach? I would love to have talent at UT, but would love even more for that talent to develop.

Garner is not going anywhere. If you remember last year he thought about it but his wife would not give up living in the Atlanta area.

He will come up here on an interview and use it to his advantage. The only place he would go to other than UGA would be Auburn.

I've been on volquest several times today, and while there may be some fans talk of Garner, I haven't seen anything from Hubbs saying that Garner wants to join this staff. Hubbs did say that it may be worth inquiring about though.

Personally, I don't see it happening. I would love to be wrong on this one.

He wanted to stay on defense, but we didn't have a spot on defense. That's why he stayed at UGA.
