You guys really think they'd spend years making a game that isn't going to run well on the console it was designed to run on? After all these years people still underestimate R*

You really think they’d spend years and hundreds of millions of dollars making a game and not maximize the chance that people buy it twice?

Boy this is a sobering image, LOL! Of course this doesn't even count the other games Rockstar was putting out like Max Payne, Bully, Manhunt, Smugglers Run, Warriors, Midnight Club, RDR1. The only alternate title they've put out in the last 12 years was RDR2.

Getting GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas in 3 years was insane. Heck, even 4 years from SA to IV and 5 years from IV to V was pretty crazy.

Yeah I don't know if that chart speaks more to the realities of modern AAA game development or if it's a result of Rockstar milking the success of GTA V for so damn long. Maybe a little of both. They say Rockstar has invested a billion dollars into GTA VI's development, so there's no telling how long they've been working on it.

I know one thing, any other game thats planning to release in 2025 had better get the hell out of the way because when this launches, it's going to be a wrecking ball!

Graphics are insane for base ps5 footage I’ll give it that
Not sure why people are so surprised by this. GTA 5 originally released on 2005 hardware. Rockstar gets the absolute most out of consoles.

Not really surprised. Just a compliment. But I will say GTAV looked great for the consoles it launched on, but it had a pretty bland art direction imo. I always called it “bland realism” lol. This looks to have a way more interesting art style and direction like Red Ded 2 had. So I like that.

Yeah, I honestly think all of Rockstar's games were kinda ugly up until the PC/PS4/Xbox One versions of GTA V, and then RDR 2 was on another level completely.

I 100% believe GTA V was always intended to be a PS4/Xbox One generation game, but those consoles were too new/had too small of an install base in 2013 for an exclusive next-gen release, so Rockstar had to make serious compromises to run it on the older consoles. Still a miracle that it ran at all, though.

Hopefully that won't be the case for GTA VI, but I could see it being fully realized on the next gen of consoles (and some super beefy PCs when it releases on Steam). Likely a 30 FPS vs 60 FPS with further cleaned up visuals siutation.
