Grand Jury to hear Johnson / Williams case (Merged)

if you 100% believe that you were raped, there is evidence that there was penetration, and you didn't black out, then I don't think it's possible to be wrong about that

Maybe she thought she said no. I ? why she is in a football players room at 1:45 am in the morning. That's all. I am sure she wasn't abducted and carried up there. I don't know. Maybe the players are guilty, but I doubt she is completely innocent of the events that took place.

If I go for a stroll in the projects of New Orleans at night, the fact that I got mugged is a crime, but I would question my intelligence and I don't think many people would feel sorry for me.:hi:

Honestly, it shouldn't be that hard.

1. Don't rape anybody
2. Don't have sex with a woman you barely know or who you know would be crazy enough to submit to a rapekit exam and want to repeatedly tell the same story about being degraded and abused to various audiences for possibly years simply to screw you over.

If you follow those two simple rules, you should be fine.

I agree, and this is common sense to most people, but some obviously have a different background and culture than I, so it may not be common sense for them.

D'Andre Payne also testified for the prosecution. Bowles father did as well.

Bowles' father was able to testify because hearsay evidence is admissible before grand jury.

This means that he was able to go outside what he personally knew about the situation and instead tell the grand jury what was told to him.

Normally that's not admissible, except with certain exceptions.

I believe there was a party at AJ's apartment

Maybe he testified that the girl came and told him the story soon after the incident, and then she called the police. Maybe he saw her physical and mental state shortly after the incident. This would corroborate her story, wouldn't it?

There has been no testimony as there has yet to be a trial. He may have given a statement to police.

Wow.

So, just so we're clear, whenever you go to a party, you expect to be raped. Interesting.

Ok, 2 Nashville news stations just reported that only Williams was indicted with 2 counts and that he was also named in another unnamed rape investigation (R jones?). They said AJ was name was also attached to the case. Did I miss something? I thought they were both indicted...

Oh that last sentence...

Learning the exceptions to hearsay drove me crazy, and I'm certain I've forgotten...lol

So did he drag her into the bedroom?I don't know what happened and either do you. I suspect that it started out consensual then turned into something she did not agree to, but I don't know. I am just referring to AJ's situation only. Was she drunk? Was he drunk? Who Knows? It just does not make sense to me with all that AJ had to lose. I doubt he has trouble getting girls.

As far as the DA goes, I trust them about as much as a used car salesmen. They are not after the truth, they just want to win, and will do anything to accomplish that. That is based on my brief encounter with a DA 20 years ago. They usually have no more scruples than then the person they are trying to prosecute IMO.:hi:

This is a bit absurd. College students go to parties all the time. No one goes expecting to be raped.

Here's what I think is going on. Both A.J. and MW were indicted in the same document. Indictments remain "sealed" until the defendant is in custody. Once MW turned himself in, the indictment was made available to the media, with the victim's name and the co-defendant's name blacked out., thus remaining "sealed" as to AJ. KNS has reported that the co-defendant is AJ based upon confirmation by his lawyer. WBIR and ESPN have not reported AJ apparently because their editorial policies will not allow them to do so until AJ is "charged." He will be charged when he either surrenders or is apprehended.

So, the question is...where is AJ? His lawyer said Thursday afternoon that arrangements were being made for his surrender. What's the holdup?

Reminds me of another former football player. We should all be on the lookout for a white Ford Bronco.

He's on the run? A manhunt for a desperate criminal? Apprehending someone is the best part of being a Law Enforcement Officer. Because, that's where all the fun begins. Hypothetically, If I were going to arrest AJ I'm talking a lot of guys with me especially if I have knowledge that he's on the run and doesn't want to be taken into custody. AJ could be a real handful if he resisted!

So did he drag her into the bedroom?

Do you know that he didn't drag her? Or coerce her under false pretenses? Do you even know for sure that this happened in a bedroom?

I don't know what happened and either do you.

There's only one of us here who is making up scenarios and presenting them without any evidence to back them up and that's you.

Case in point...

I suspect that it started out consensual then turned into something she did not agree to, but I don't know. I am just referring to AJ's situation only. Was she drunk? Was he drunk? Who Knows?

Well, if you don't know, then I'm not sure why you are casting aspersions on a possible victim of a heinous crime. It certainly sounds like you must know something more than you are telling us since you've somehow concluded that she probably gave her consent.

It just does not make sense to me with all that AJ had to lose.

On the other hand, it makes more sense to you that a girl would have consensual sex, then immediately call the police and report it as rape? Then would want to have doctors poke and prod her most intimate areas in a thorough exam? And then would want to tell the exact same story of being completely degraded to the police and then to attorneys and then to a judge and grand jury and eventually to another judge, jury, and audience? That she would like her family and acquaintances to know this story and for it to follow her the rest of her life? That she would like to be in a situation where anonymous ____s on the internet with no knowledge of what happened immediately declare that they "doubt she is completely innocent" or that they consider her "at least partial at fault?" That she would spend a year of her life doing this just to screw over a late round NFL draft pick? That makes more sense to you? Really?

I doubt he has trouble getting girls.

Do you really think the motive behind all rapes is "trouble getting girls"? Do you even think it's the motive behind most of them?

Following your logic, I guess no one attractive or wealthy could be a rapist. You should bring your research to the attention of law enforcement officials everywhere. This could really save them alot of time now that they know these people couldn't possibly be guilty of that kind of crime.

Just so we've got this correct…you've determined that the alleged victim probably consented and the prosecutors are probably as bad as criminals but you don't want anyone to jump to conclusions about AJ Johnson, because we don't know what happened? Is that right?

Here are the facts of the case as far as I know. If anyone knows of any other facts please add:

-There were initially two women involved in the rape/sexual assault. One is a UT student and another visiting out of state declined to press charges.
-The woman reported the rape to the police who took her to the UT Medical Center where she was examined with a rape kit and met with a rape counselor.
-According to Johnson and William's attorneys they have fully cooperated with the police investigation.
-The alleged rape and sexual assault took place at Johnson's off campus apartment during party after KY game.
-There were numerous other witnesses interviewed by the police some of whom were also football players.
-The two players were immediately suspended from the football team by Coach Jones.
-The materials of the investigation were turned over to the DA's office in December and the police stated that it would be up to the DA's office if charges will be filed.
-The DA's office submitted the evidence to the Grand Jury this month.
-Michael Williams was indicted on two counts of aggravated rape.
-Michael Williams was also indicted on two separate counts of aiding and abetting another indicted individual of aggravated rape-oral and vaginal.
-The five page indictment redacts the name of the other indicted individual.
-Two more indictments indict an unnamed individual with oral and vaginal rape. Those indictments name Williams as aiding and abetting the unnamed individual.
-Williams turned himself in and was released on $40k bond.

P.S.-Aggravated Rape - Sexual penetration of a victim using force, coercion, a weapon, causing physical injury, or while aided by another person and using force or coercion, or knowing the victim is mentally or physically incapacitated.

Without holding a gun to some9nes head how in the world could someone be orally raped? She could bite your penis off!!
I have never heard of someone being charged with oral rape other than statutory...where age was the only reason it was rape..not consent. So much for the rumors of the victim giving consent for everything except a back door delivery. That seems to be a lie from another supposed insider.

Maybe it was his oral.

"How can someone be orally raped?" I know we're not supposed to curse on here, but this is ****ing dumb. You are talking about someone who could have close 100lbs on the girl. If a guy with that much power decided to rape a girl there isn't much she can do about it. If you can't imagine how or why someone could be "orally raped" (receiving or giving), then you've got some serious ignorance going on.

I tried looking up oral rape in the Tennessee Code and could not find it. It is on the indictment according to the media. Why? I don't know.

The Tennessee Code as far as I could see only defines aggravated rape as forced sexual penetration but does not separately define vaginal or oral rape. Unless someone can find it somewhere.

I imagine they do not make separate charges for oral, vaginal or anal rape. It sounds like they just know details. It's more likely that one of the indictments is for rape, while the other is for some type of assault, kidnapping charge (not sure if that works in this case) or what-have-you.
