Personally, unless this game just gets flawless reviews from the critics, I'm passing on GT6. With PS4 coming out this year I just don't want to invest the time and trouble that a game like Gran Turismo demands. I know Polyphony has always released 2 GT's on each platform in years past but I think they are making a gross miscalculation on this one. They should have readied it for the PS4 instead of PS3, or at least made it cross platform compatible with advantages on the PS4 version. To me this feels almost pointless as I really doubt Polyphony could push the PS3 much further than they already did with GT5.

1200 cars. That's laughable. There will be 50 Skylines, 20 Silvas, 30 Lancers, 20 Integras, 30 Imprezas, 20 S2000s, 20 RX-7s, 40 Civics, 20 Preludes,....etc. I bet there will be a total of 40 Ford and Chevys combined. When you have 150 Nissans and only 10 Ferrari cars total in a videogame, something is wrong. Don't get me wrong I like the massive car list but do we really need 50 Skylines?

I agree. I really, really, really, really, really love Skylines but Forza does a much better balancing act.

Actually Forza does a better job of handling the Japanese cars. They have the both mazdaspeed 3's in Forza, yet absent in GT. Small detail, but there isn't really a car in Forza that is missing for me.

That comes down to licensing.

Forza's honestly a great game. It beats GT in layout, presentation, graphics and design. But GT offers real depth in areas that actually matter in terms of gameplay and proper simulation, and the physics, reactions and handling of the cars are much closer to real life than Forza.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to assert that Forza is a better game, but my primary considerations when buying racing games are how many hours I can get out of it and how good of a simulation it is. GT beats Forza in both measures by a long, long way.

I will 100% disagree with you if you are comparing Forza 4 with GT5.....................GT 4 and below was the best out there when it came to this, but IMO Forza 4+ has blown them away when it comes to simulation and handling of cars. JMO

you can almost liken the comparison to cod and the bf series. one is catered more to the casual/moderate gamer the other is a more simulated experience. both are great games in their own right though. i have always loved the gt series, i just don't have the time to put into it anymore. i bought gt5 with good intentions only to sell it after about 12% completion. you have to put in some serious work on those games.

I really agree as well. GT5, all the cars have too much grip and they don't break traction in a real world fashion. Forza really does a much better job of that.

Also, all of the depth that people talk about in GT5 is actually just tedious and dull. You would have thought that in the 15 years or so they have been making the game that they would have figured out a better way to teach people to play than dull and lengthy license tests.

Much rage has been had with license test back on the PS2...................especially when you had a great run after the 10th time only to fail because you barely touched the road boundary
