Based on conversations with some people that I respect, I think right now, the odds are that Gran and Wilson will be coaching elsewhere next season.

It will be interesting to see what Kiffin and Hamilton can/will do to try to retain them.

I would put my money on CEG out of the two.....and have always thought he was getting way to little money....lsu is looking at NCAA trouble and FSU in knee deep in it..... :hi:

They'll make a reasonable offer to each, then move on to their replacements. I can say with 100% confidence that feelers started going out to potential replacements as soon as Porter became a candidate at Memphis and Bowden announced he was done at FSU. If they leave, their replacements will be in Knoxville within 7 days.

Is it just the money? Because FSU and LSU don't really seem like teams with a lot of upside right now.

If you add Orgeron and Thompson to the list of those being rumored to have opportunities at other schools, that would be four coaches off of this staff. Do you ever remember four coaches on one staff being in serious contention for other jobs? It may have happened, but nothing comes to my mind.

Look st Stoops' early staffs at OU. Those guys didn't just get job offers, a bunch of them got head coaching jobs.

I would rather lose Wilson than Gran......Gran is a great coach

Got an opinion on who?

Both Gran and Wilson are great coaches and recruiters that have their own spcific areas they recruit. Both recruit their areas well, and also each coaches position players have improved. Backs ran better than any set in a long time, net to no fumbles etc. WR's meshed, and came togethrtoward the middle of the year, but also blocked their butts off all year. Both would be a great loss, since this staff is a who's who of recruiters. CEO and CLT both won the Recruiter of the Year award respectively. If they do leave, which I don't think they will, because of what CLK is trying to build, we will replace them with high quality Coaches/Recruiters.

I believe the opportunity to coach with Monte is a big draw for CEO & CLT as well. I don't see them leaving at this point in their career....JMO.

I don't think we can afford to lose Gran, hes put us in good standing with a lot of recruits.

Hopefully we can get an assistant with strong connections to the Virginia Tidewater/Maryland region.......we used to get some good players from that area.

Really?

What makes you think that?
As Gruden mentioned when he was in the booth during USF's game against Cincinnati, the Bucs staff and Leavitt's guys interacted all the time. That means Monte knows them. Also, those guys have done a really good job of recruiting Florida.
