KnoxNews is launching new site tomorrow morning, and their govolsxtra.com will no longer be a subscription site. Just wanted to let you guys know. Enjoy.

Glad the KNS finally figured out what a crappy model that was. Still no need to go to govols.com though. Just go to our homepage and all the stories are linked there.

On a sibebar, it would be nice if Fulmer selected another reporter (in addition to Hubbs) to give access to the normally closed fall practices. Hubbs put all his information from the practices on a pay site.

I'm not sure it would be possible to find another reporter that is as big of a homer as Hubbs.

thanks
I haven't been a regular visitor to the knoxnews for 5-6 years since they instituted the govols extra

It may not have been that long but it feels like it

Good info. Yea I quit reading the KNS Vols coverage when they instituted that stupid thing.

Glad they finally realized no one wants to pay to read Adams' columns. I used to pay when I was on the left coast and had no way of getting good UT info. Then I found the VN....

I'm fairly certain the Chattanooga UT beat writer, Estes, has similar access...

does he have a blog, or website where he posts his observations from practice?

Good point. He does blog in season, but only started last year and he could definitely put more effort into that side this season. Also, I could easily be wrong about how much access the guy gets...

I stayed with them after they went to a pay site and was never happy. The first GoVols site was actually better than the pay site. I think the concept was good at first, but they never updated all the extras they had.

I agree that Hubbs is biased but it seems you get either one extreame, J. Adams who is a doomdayer and Hubbs who is a complete homer, me, I'd prefer the brighter side of things.
