EVERYONE - Quit freaking out. Cutcliffe is a solid hire. He was the OC during the most dominant period of UT football in our lifetimes. He also coached 4 (yes, 4) first round draft picks that were quarterbacks. So relax, Cutcliffe is a safe, but reliable hire.
Some of you guys really blow! Cut has never been anything but a fantastic coach. He has shortcomings in recruiting and that is pretty much it. This is the perfect hire at this moment in time. UT needed to bring in one of its own that would be loyal to a fault. Can you think of anyone else that fits into that category better than Cut? No you can't. I for one am thrilled that we won't get screwed over after a year or two again by hiring some young guy who really doesn't want to be here and will bolt at the first opportunity to become head coach at a former school where he coached or played. Cut is Big Orange all the way and his assistants will be too if they plan to stay here very long. Some of you folks on here are trashing the man like he killed your dog or something. He is everything that was good about UT football in the last 20 years. I'm proud of Hamilton for signing him.
He has got it worked out on which assts he will be bringing., which was the big hold up in the first place with him wanting to bring his entire staff. Cut knows the deal. Its amazing to me that Tennessee is a place that coaches are trying to avoid now. Never in the history of Air Force football could you have offered their head coach the Tennessee job and him turn it down.
