And to think I was probably going to go to my first game at Neyland next season, looks like I won't be wasting my money.

got the txt from govolsxtra. terrible decision, watch fulmer become ad in the next 2 wks. if that happens as much as it pains me i won't support them while they are there.

Hamilton would not hire Cut if he thought Fulmer would come take his ad job. He would simply hire Kip... you know what? Who gives a f@$# anymore. :mf_surrender:

I guess he and Calhoun are going to share the responsibilities. Seriously, I hope this is not true, I can't stand the thought of going backwards. I wouldn't doubt it though. Hamilton's job is on the line and Coach C. is (probably) a safe hire. He may even be feeling some pressure from a bunch of old UT lameos sticking their nose into the process. Man, I think that's the meanest thing I've said since I've been on Vol Nation. Oh well, I said it and I'm glad. I do actually like Cutcliffe just not as UT's coach.

Ugh...might as well bring Chavis back, too. Make Randy Sanders the OC.

I don't like this, but if it is to be done, we NEED lights out recruiters. I don't care what anyone thinks about Trooper Taylor. If he wants back in, make him an offer and bring him back. Go HARD after Rodney Garner, too.

He's bringing his staff from Duke.

I bet recruits are decommiting from other schools and just chomping at the bit to 1990 football here at UT.......

I think this is an extremely bad decision if it turns out to be true. He didn't amount to crap at Ole Miss and he has a losing record at Duke. Why in the heck must we continue to seek out coaches with losing records? I hope I'm proven wrong about him if he does turn out to be the coach.

Also, I have a feeling that if Cut is hired then Hamilton will be out of his job shortly thereafter.

I think the problem is that there are more positions than candidates and the timing is awful. I mean look at USC they missed out on atleast 5 people before they took Kiffin and USC is supposed to be a dream school to coach at. Theres 3 weeks till NSD which doesn't help because any college coach that leaves will do to their school what Kiffin did to us. Also most of the NFL guys, have already found other positions. Anyway, UT might have no choice but to hire someone subpar. I mean we missed out on Gruden, Texas's DC and Air Forces coach has said no. Nobody knows how many others have denied interest in the job. I honestly feel bad for Hamilton because he is screwed and will lose his job because there is nobody good enough to hire that is left. That being said, if he does pull out a miracle I will be the first to congratulate him.

I'm sure UGA is the most upset after hearing this news. They are 0 for life against him.

Well get ready for 3 or so years of mediocrity. Unfreakenbelievable.
It will be more than that. It will take forever to fire him, because too many people will be whining about how he's loyal to Tennessee and how bad things are when he came in. If he comes, we can look to have him for about 6 years, IMO.

Kippy isn't even going to be OC... he will be WR coach. Cut is bringing in his own OC and DC. Along with RB, TE, ST.

Current staff that stays is: LT and KB - maybe Cregg as well.

Take it for what its worth;

Wes Rucker
This is all I can say: If Cutcliffe is really about to be hired, at least one powerful influence on the program is not in the loop.

I'd rather be right than first, but I have reasons to think Cutcliffe is far from a done deal.

There might be some hope at least.
