At the SECT last year in our game vs TX my AU coworker and I keep alluding to the line the last +/- 1 min and how we had gotten up double digits vs a single digit line (think it was 8-9). TX cut it to that range and commits a foul on our inbound with under 10 seconds left and we win by 11 to cover. Rodney Terry was so befuddled with his player, cause the game was out of reach. Postgame I go to the restroom and literally every dude in there was talking about the last 30 seconds and praising TX for the foul leading to the cover. There’s not a team in the world with the confidence to think they can come back down 9 with 8 seconds left. One of the most amazing aspects of sports gambling is how close the over/under usually is and how often the total will swing just over or under on some late game craziness..
I wouldn’t care about Memphis at all if I didn’t feel that every single one of them felt contempt for every UT fan. **balls up my fist**Penny Hardaway, I don't think he likes him, but being the type man Barnes is, Barnes does not hate him. Respect - No way he respects him as a coach.
I pulled for Memphis State against UCLA in the championship game. I hated UCLA and Walton then, but loved him after he led Portland to the NBA title. As I grew older, my love for him was because he loved music and was the ultimate Dead Head.I personally am not a Dead Head but I get his vibe anywayI wouldn’t care about Memphis at all if I didn’t feel that every single one of them felt contempt for every UT fan. **balls up my fist**
Most Florida fans in West Tennessee are petty Memphis fans.
I wasn’t old enough to remember Walton as a player, but I’ve learned enough to admire what he was able to accomplish through his career. The old hippies were a lot more fun than the old alcoholics when I was starting in construction.I pulled for Memphis State against UCLA in the championship game. He was automatic shooting an array of shots from 8 ft in. He was a gifted and crafty passer of the ball. All the while being 6'11". He aint the ONLY one that's thought that!![]()

Any pro athlete willing to do voice work as themself for American Dad is A-OK in my book.I pulled for Memphis State against UCLA in the championship game. You really think he doesn't say that stuff the players? When I heard the remark I thought: maybe he should tell the players that. Sometimes the stupid stuff they do looks like they are trying to shave points or throw games. Gillespie has at least a couple of head-scratching "brain farts" every game. Last night it was those two fouls on 3-point shots.
"Maybe he should tell the players that" certainly suggests you think you know what he is or isn't telling them. Of course we can't know for certain, but after listening to Coach Barnes for several years now and watching him on the sidelines, I'd say there's a less than 1% chance he hasn't said it them.I don't know what he says to the players. I don't go to practices and no one is reporting/saying that he says this to his players.

All irrelevant anyway, as he was using a humorous line to tell us that he's just as mystified by the bone-headed plays.
