First off, I realize we played Tenn Tech. They are a terrible team that stood no chance at beating Tennessee. I get it.

Now I said this week that we would see the same old UT, playing flat, uninspired, undisciplined football against TT. I said we would go into halftime being down and have to come back to win. I also said there is no way Tennessee covers the 42 point spread.

I am here to man up and say I was wrong and am happy to be. The team looked looser, more energetic, more disciplined and hungry. But to me the most important thing was they looked like they were having fun. The look on the players faces said a lot in my opinion. They looked like they were in a backyard football game just enjoying themselves on a chilly fall day. I am not trying to say this game means anything going forward. Just today, in this game, the team looked different. Good job Vols.

Good for you. Takes a lot to admit when one is wrong. Too many on here overly anxious to prove they are right.

Hope they can play with this attitude the rest of the year. I will say I haven't seen them play the whole game at any point this year like they actually enjoy the game. It was really refreshing.

Awww, reading all of the doom and gloom plus anger over coaching staff is what makes reading this forum interesting. If it was all butterflies and flowers it would be no fun right? Beat UK,,,,

My predictions were dead wrong about this game and I am glad. I hope this win helps the team move forward with a winning attitude. I think we needed some positivity given the past month or so.

I totally agree. I still think we have serious coaching issues. Just wanted to say that they looked different today and how my predictions were dead wrong.

Here's the thing. I'm still trying to look for signs he's improving because the ad situation isn't going to allow for a change anytime soon plus He's liked amongst the people who would have to come up with the buyout.

I really believe that one player that thinks they're a star can be a big problem on a college team. In the NFL there's an established pecking order in college one guy that has performed well before can create a popularity contest

I can appreciate the sentiment, but you're a bit premature with you mea culpa imo. We need to see what this team does the next 3 weeks before you fire up the grill IMO. Although the mood and spirit of the team looked healthy today, there's just nothing to take from this game vs a team that had no ability to remotely threaten any aspect of our team. Next week, vs a Kentucky team that actually has a handful of playmakers, will be a much better barometer of where this team is.

Agreed. Team came to play today and I think that's a testament to their character. Season starts again today. Maybe this will renew some confidence. No matter the competition level.

Therefore causing dissent in the locker room and making it seem like coaches are playing favorites or stuff like that

It was a cupcake opponent but that's ok..if you beat them like you should a cupcake opponent. We did and that's a start.

I gotcha KB. My thing was, I really didnt even expect the Vols to play remotely this well even against TT. I am taking nothing away other than the fact that for this one game, Tennessee looked different than in any other game this year. Hooefully they will continue it and improve. Thats what I hope this win propels them to do.

OP you got guys here to tell you how to feel. If you ever date a girl that is using you, they got your back. I assume you're a teenager, and that's why they're helping you now.

Yes it was TTU but the fire and emotion were there that we haven't seen in a while...not to mention the solid execution...even by the 2nd & 3rd stringers.

As long as Evan Berry is ok, we came away pretty good on injuries too. Paul Bain is the only other Vol I remember getting banged up.

This has to be a hoax. I can't believe that anyone would actually think we would be down at the half to them.

They definitely played with better energy and emotion. They looked happy to be out there, even played with "joy" if you will. So I gotcha there, understand your point.

I'm glad we took care of business, and handled a severally under matched team. But, you really can't put much stock in this game. TT hasn't played a DI school all year. So, let's see if we build on this and play well next week. Ky will challenge our defense. But, I will say Kelly is an impressive rb. He squeezes through the smallest of holes, and has a great burst.
