Do I agree he should leave? Porbably not. But he doesn't believe he is ready for the NFL. He believes he has learned zero under Butch and he wants to actually go somewhere to get ready for the NFL.

This may change. He may decide to declare but right now he feels he is not ready.

Tell him to go to an eye doctor and improve his vision and who knows, maybe the OL gave a little less effort at times for old JH. Not right but could happen. JK looked good against old SC. Thing is what you guys are spewing keeps hurting and not helping J. Butch can stay or go for all I care but he is the coach and JH is just a player. Got to know your place in the chain.

What is 'fun football'? This isn't ballet. This must be some new millennial phrase. I never played past high school, and got my bell rung several times. I played MLB and FB at 192 lbs due to other sports that required me to cut weight. I never complained or whined when I got yelled at or asked to run 1 yard dive plays. Or when I had to figure out a way to get past a lineman that outweighed me by 70 to 80 lbs. I just did what I was asked to do. This new mentality of everyone saving themselves for something bigger and greater when nothing is guaranteed is what takes the fun out of it. If anything the coaches coddle players more so now than they ever did. And I never quit anything I started mid season. So I definitely don't understand how that is acceptable in any way shape or form.

Everybody at the spring game, at least the ones sitting near me, brought this same issue up then...That spoke volumes then as it does now...I really am concerned for the kid because its obvious he is vastly immature....Hopefully those around him will want WHATS BEST FOR HIM IN THE LONG RUN...because this could really screw up a kids head for a long time...

Yeah he is. His tweet showing a pair of cleats hanging said all good things must come to an end (or some variation) got a lot of people thinking he was leaving. But the Barnett theory seems very very plausible. Considering he deleted all UT links from his account as well.

WOW, just went end-to-end on this thread. Took me about an hour to get through 28 pages (over 40 min tryin to figure out what FATZ posts meant... still confused :-/ )

Sucks to lose a talented player like Hurd, but proud of the team if it went down like some have suggested. No player is bigger than the team, no matter how talented they are.

I wish Hurd the best of luck, but I'm a Tennessee Vols fan first, and I will ALWAYS chose the team over one player. Go Vols!

I can't believe I read this entire thread, LOL!

I'm NOT a insider BUT I can say that I believe lots of what's been said about the attitude of Hurd and here's why...

I was really excited that Hurd was coming to Tennessee and since I live in Sumner county I was disappointed that Hurd was hurt and wouldn't play his senior year of high school football.

During Hurds senior year of high school my son started dating a girl from Beech high school and I never saw her lie about anything or disrespect anyone.

One day she was at our home and I started talking about Hurd and what she said shocked me and worried me.

She said he's a egomaniac and thinks and acts like he's better than everyone.

She also said that in Hurds Junior year when they won the State Championship she was amazed at how many guys on the football team really didn't like him and his inflated ego and thinking and acting like he's better than everyone else.

Now that several others, including 34, have said the same things it seems that she was telling the truthful facts.

It's also very telling that he wasn't voted to be a Captain on our footVol team.

The bad attitude things to be confirmed without any doubts as far as I'm concerned.

We all know that Hurd was showboating at the UGa game when he lost the ball and a sure TD.

Much of the other things said in this thread seem to fit in with his ego/attitude issues but we'd all like more confirmation of the verbal fight with buTch and Hurd throwing a ball and hitting him in the back.

We also want more info and confirmation on any other issues especially what's the deal with a cheerleader?

I'm sorry he's gone and I hope this doesn't end up hurting his future.

I pray he'll grow up and become a fine, mature, good man and I wish him all the best.

Now lets get behind our footVol team with 100% support ad finish this season getting the WIN in every game!

Lets also hope the Gators lose at least 2 more games.

No, not at all but there's alot of bad information going around. VFL34, LWS, Deerpark and skeeter if hes even around anymore are the ones with solid information. I question fatz because his story has changed a few times, granted so did Jimmy Hyams story Monday. Just makes me wonder about his source, as far as DeBord goes LWS has said hes not going anywhere unless he wants to same with Shoop.
