Good Bye Florida....sorta
I've had enough.
Living in FL is like living in one big HOA...although my neighborhood didn't have.
Every time you turn around the state or county has their hand out on everything you do...almost. State and County fees on the sale of my house was over 1%.
Property Taxes and Insurance have doubled in last few years.
In 2022, after Ian, FEMA designated all of Charlotte Co. a flood zone.....however my neighborhood has never flooded....at least according to one old timer that has been there since the 60's. And, I was 100 yards from canal leading to Charlotte Harbor!
Just sold my house...Surprisingly! Yes, I did make money after 9 yrs but, I'm glad I wasn't n a $400k plus community.
FHA loan handled by a "minority owned" lender. Suppose to close 6/25.... Finally closed today. My agent (bought from him 9 yrs ago and he became a friend and sold) told me this was the most F***ed up closing he has ever seen, but it's becoming more common place to have problems....even with conventional.
My neighborhood is nice and well kept....except for one azz hole! The weeds are knee high, three autos in his yard that don't run. Everyone for blocks around has complained to the city...has been like that for 4 yrs.
I will miss fresh veggies and citrus! I won't miss the mozies and no see'ems.
I will miss knowing I was close to another TN fan whose dog use to wear a power T cap......and all the other TN fans in FL...F' the gators.
I could go on for hours but you get the picture! I'm back at my house in the hills of TN. But will escape to KL before the grip of Winter sets in hopefully. Besides, the Keys aren't really Florida.....ask any Conch U find.
