Goodbye,Dooley....

The whole lot has to go including Dooley. We have as talented a team as we have had in 8 yrs and we just have no direction. I love the vols, Remember Bama went thru this same thing until they found there coach. Time to cut ties and move on.

This team folds like a cheap tent under pressure which is a reflection on the coaches. We have 2 coaches that are earning their salary and that is Graham and Pittman, the rest including DD need to go asap.

There are many factors here. We have talent issues on defense--but I also think Sal has done a poor job. You just can't give up 40 points in big games. Wilcox produced a better defense with less talent and depth--true? Offensively, we have weapons and our best OL in a decade, but it doesn't come through in the clutch. Improved running game but passing game has got BAD. Too predictable. Everybody talks about Hunter. Patterson had 1--rpt. 1--catch last night. How are we supposed to beat bama when CP has one freakin' catch? Chaney will call a good series and then when we absolutely need 5 yards he has Bray throwing an incompletion 25 yards downfield. No leadership at QB--a problem. We have also played three of the best teams in the country--all loaded with talent. That means we really need to have great coaching and execution to win-and it's not there.

Guys, Dooley isn't a great coach.... but he was the guy who came in at our darkest hour and rebuilt the roster.

He won't take us to the top but he did help us get off the mat and will set up our next guy to succeed.

He needs to go, but he did work for Tennessee, give him a little respect.

No, he worked for millions of dollars to coach a GAME. I could have done as well as he has for $50k a year.

The chances that Dooley remains after this season are very slim. We'll lose against SC and the D will end up costing us one of the last four. That's 6-6 and should not be acceptable to Hart or the big money boosters.

Even with a $5 mil buy out, it will still be cheaper to fire Dooley than what it will cost the program in revenue lost from piss poor attenandance and recruits that see this program as a joke under Dooley.

We have lost 4 games to 4 very good teams and we likely lose to SC because they are a better team than we are right now. I don`t think we lose again this year in the regular season. That will get Dooley one more year.

Not true! It comes down to $$$ and we can't afford to keep him!

Watch and see how many empty seats there will be the rest of the year.

Plus, doners don't give as freely when the program is down.

$5M is a drop in the bucket to what keeping him will cost us!

we can Qwarrrrrles from muraville to come here an clean this mess up....I meant the stadium aisles

Once again in his presser, he couldn't take any responsibilty for the loss. The man who looks like he got hit by a bus throws the players under the bus yet again. Once a lawyer always a lawyer. Fire Dooley, please!

You bunch of cry babies.....at the beginning of the season everybody on God`s green earth knew we didn`t have the tools to compete with Alabama yet when we lose a game we all knew we could not win you all go APE-SH*T. Suck it up! So unless the Vols lose the rest of their games Dooley will more than likely get one more year no matter if we like or not.

Barbara is that you?

I hope we don't lose another game this year, but I honestly think we lose at least two more. If Dooley is kept after that, then we are in for major hurt next year.

The schedule is tougher next year and with most of this staff not being able to develop talent or recruit it on the defensive side, then we are looking at another 6-6 or 5-7 year. How much money will that cost Tennessee?

...... your free ride is over. You weren't qualified to begin with, so go home tonight and pack. He looks like a freakin' deer in the headlights on the sideline.

But you have to admit, a coach on crutches with a deer in the headlights look is an absolutely perfect metaphor for where Tennessee football is right now..

Agreed, always said he was stocking the pantry.

Dude we are still winless in the SEC and it's October. That is why people are upset. This team has shown NO progress from last season. That is why people are upset. If you can live with the wins during the cupcake schedule of November then God bless you Tiny Tim.

I am a devoted fan and while I am confused by the leadership displayed on the field I question some that is on the sidelines.

However, my anger is directed towards the Offensive Coordinator Jim Chaney. I am beginning to wonder if his ability to lead an offense is effective. During his time under Kiffin he had direct leadership from Lane Kiffin himself since old Monte was in charge of defense.

So while everyone says fire Dooley I am wondering if an offensive coordinator change might just be what the TN Volunteers need.

While I respect, Dooley's loyalty and honor towards his fellow man and employee. He needs to consider the potential that is being wasted under this OC leadership. You cannot belittle the quarterback in front of his players during practice and think that he is going to have the confidence to lead the team.

Not to mention expect him to read a defense if you only let him run the plays that you tell him to run. With confidence comes the ability to see things and check off the run to a pass or vice versa. Bray repeatedly looks lost and confused by what either was called or by what he sees.

So the question is: Is it Bray’s inability or is it Chaney’s lack of producing a leader in a quarterback. And I know people will say it’s the quarterback’s coaches job but if the offensive coordinator belittles you as a person then confidence is lacking. Plus as an Indiana native it is obvious that Chaney prefers the pass and while that is spectacular we do need a run game in the SEC.

But yet we don’t have a good running back you say. Well we aren’t going to get one if we don’t show that we are going to run the ball. So while corrections have been made, and we have been running the ball more since Florida I don’t think that it was Chaney’s decision to do this, but more a call by the head coach.

Further more just because we have a high ranked offense doesn't mean that we have good leaders. And yes while our defense needs improvement, it is only Sals first year. As well we are never going to compete on the defensive side if we don't have the depth to keep up with this amazing high scoring/ 3 and out offense. Our defense was on the field for 47 minutes last night so while they did get burned a number of times early the big points that Alabama got didn't come until late in the game and as I recall that is the same thing that happend with Florida.

So decide what you will. I am hunting Chaney’s position not Dooley’s.

Bottom line is why did Dooley retain him when he was brought in? Most HC bring in their own OC, not retain the leftovers from the last regime, especially since he didn't ride out with them to the west coast.

Hey Dick Tracy, never said I was happy with the way things are going. Just said unless the Vols lose the rest of their games Dooley will be back for one more year. Get your head out of your butt and learn to read.

Derek Dooley quote; "They do that to everybody ... so we just joined the ranks of the rest of the country."
This comment doesn't sound like a guy that believes in himself. It bothers me that just because everyone else is getting hammered by Bama, it's cool. Shouldn't he raise the bar a bit?

amen

Agree, if Hart don't fire his ass in the morning Hart should be fired, holy hell this is getting old

Neither Kiffin, Dooley, nor Hart should not have been hired in the first place... We need some Big Orange blood on the sidelines and in the AD office. People who have UT interests at heart... not just their personal wallet.

He's already gone. If you can't see that, then may God have mercy on your soul.
