From GVX's article on Vinson.....

Also on Thursday, new UT coach Lane Kiffin spent about three hours conducting a class check. Kiffin made an unexpected visit to early morning classes for several players, including safety Eric Berry's 8 a.m. class, likely to send a message.

Good stuff right there.

That man is everywhere. I think he's glad that Org and his Dad are on board so they can take over the bulk of recruiting and Lane can shift his focus to the team.

Good to see.

Yeah, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be absent from class if O were doing the checks.

Every time I see Lane Kiffin's name I am more impressed.

Which produces better results, mouthing about academia in your press conferences, or DEMONSTRATING what you expect?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this guy!!!

I don't think I would want to be in the class of a player that was absent. Org would go into "rage mode" and initiate "destruction sequence 2".

He'd just have them all shirtless ready to learn.

Haha, adds a different dimension because classes are co-ed. Might be an incentive.

Scratch that... I would want to be in class if Org was doing attendence checks.

Did it say whether or not Berry was present? Or was it just assumed that he was there and all is well?

If he coached at Duke it would definitely not be a good thing.

If he walked into one of my classes to check on one of his players, I wouldn't appreciate the interruption. He couldn't check with the instructor AFTER class?

I think this goes without saying, but Rod Wilks regularly checks in on Kiffin & staff to make sure he's in his office or participating in something pertaining to football progressiveness.

of all the players to check to see in class, why berry? he is the least of kiffin's worries.

Not as much as the students that texted during class. If it was an auditorium classroom, I doubt it mattered.

It's not about you, so why would it bother you?? Would you feel your atmosphere to learn had been compromised?? Also, if your a Vol fan, wouldn't be reassuring to know that the coach cares about the team enough to make sure his players are doing what they are supposed to be doing??
