For those that have seen games in the Georgia dome before, where would you rather sit between these two options:
1. lower level corner/lower level endzone
or
2. first few rows of the upper deck between the 20s

Since this will be my first time there, I'd also be interested to hear other general comments and reviews of the Georgia Dome as compared to other stadiums, domes, arenas, etc.

best view is in the Blimp

Cute.

Definitely go with the upper deck. The endzone seats will have a questionable view.

I would recommend the opposite for a Falcons game, as the fans are currently way more entertaining than the birds sans Matty Ice.

Generally speaking, I think it is a great place to watch a game. The renovation Art Blank got the team a couple of years ago is first-rate. Hit some tailgates in the gulch, watch the UT-Memphis game at Stats or Dantanna's, see us smoke some Gobbler with a side of hoppin john, then watch the Peach Drop on TV at a nice warm bar.

I can't recall for the UT-Clemson Cick fil A game; did they serve beer? I was lit when I walked in that night.

I have Falcons season tickets and have sat all over the dome. Anywhere in the upper deck is good but the lower level end zone seats aren't that great cause half the time the teams are on the other end and the goal post can be annoing

There isnt really a bad seat in the dome IMO there are jumbotrons on both sides so if the ball is on the opposite side of the field you can just look at the screen and watch the game

I'm still trying to figure out where my student seats are.

My girlfriend got her Tech student tickets, and they're in 102.

I went the SECCG when we played LSU, sat in the very last row and still had a great view...it's a relatively small venue but most are when you are used to going to The Mecca.

The only time I've been there was the '07 SECCG and I sat in the lower level endzone and they were fine.

For the nosebleed seats, bring some high powered binoculars---it's hard to see anything way up at the top.

I plan to get 50 yard line tickets on the VOLS side. Is it better to be in the first 10 rows or rows 11-20? If I'm in, say, the first 5 rows, would I be able to see the plays (over the players on the sideline)? I've never seen a game at the GA Dome, so I really appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks! GO VOLS!!!

I have Falcons season tics. You are much better off with #2. Lower level corner is not a terrible seat, but you have better view of the field in the upper between the 20's. Just make sure you are in the first 5 rows.

Not really a bad seat in the house. My dad's old boss had season tix that were 10-15 rows up lower lever in the south endzone. They were really good seats. I have sat pretty much everywhere though and have never had a bad seat even in the upper level. If you are worried about parking. I would take the marta to the game. There is a station called H.E Holmes (formerly Hightower) off I20. We have used that marta station for years and never had any issues. It puts you out right at the dome. About a 10 minute ride if that.

I say the upper deck are the better seats because you can see all of the action. Lower level, you end up standing and only seeing what action is in your end.

Thanks. So if I'm around the 50 yard line, would you recommend not getting seats close to the field (first 10 rows)? Would I be able to see anything?

Lower deck, mid field, you want to be above the 10th row, yes.
The Chick Fil A Bowl web site has a "view from your section" feature that you might want to check out.

I like the club level, even if you aren't in the club, itself. Great view of the field and not too high up.

The last five times UT has played there, whatever seats are closest to the exit have been the best.

The Georgia Dome doesn't really have a 'bad' view, just depends on your personal preference.

As an Atlanta resident, I've gone to several games there. Personally, I find it to be a very sterile atmosphere. The white roof and odd lighting gives it the appearance of the lighting you'd see in a dim bathroom. The sound can be quite loud, however, if the fans really get into it (the UNC-LSU game last year had a pretty electric crowd). Still, it looks better inside and out now that the seating and paintjob are red and black, rather than a couple years ago when it was all green, tan, and pink pastels. For those only used to Neyland Stadium, you will find that the concourses are comparatively very wide and roomy, and the bathrooms and concession stands are numerous on each level.

I suppose I'm a purist and prefer open air stadiums. To me, the Georgia Dome is not a great atmosphere to watch a football game, but I'm still looking forward to seeing the Vols come to town this year (hopefully twice, in fact!).
