Good Read

Interesting-- I'd hate to see Phil go elsewhere though-- while I agree we need a fresh start, I think the man has earned the right to end his career at UT.

Would it not be possible to do with Phil something similar to what the Knicks did with Isiah Thomas. He was simply "reassigned" to another role with the team, and is barred from having any kind of contact with the players or coaching staff so he can't mess up what the new coach is trying to do. This would help UT avoid having to pay his absurd buyout, and just pay his salary over the next few years, without any raises since obviously if he is assigned to a different job at the University he won't be winning 8 games as the HFC.

That is a good read. Hire fulmer at MTSU , or maybe some other school that doesnt expect to compete for a NC.

Thats not a real hard gig to succeed at. Yeah, even fulmer couldn't mess that up.
I' just thinking that we'd no longer have to worry about them and they couldn't beat good teams any more.

I think it's almost a certainty that we will have a new coach next season at UT. I just hope we don't make a stupid hire and have to give up 3 years dealing with it.
Who do you really think we'll hire?? We always talk about fun ideas like Will Muschamp, Lane Kiffin, and Bronco Mendenhall...but we all know those guys won't even be considered for the job. I'd imagine it will be limited to Coach Cut, Tubberville, Jim Grobe, and maybe Brian Kelly.
If I had my druthers with that list, I might take Kelly.

Go Vols.
