good read for the SEC

Oh you mean that UW team that beat USC, yes that one. I was referring to the past 4 National Champions, since you want to play dumb.

Wait, I thought the P10's record vs the SEC was better because our 2's and 3's were beating your dregs.

Don't confuse the SEC's ability to game the BCS system with actually having the best team. The fact that UiF played in the 2008 game over SC proves nothing. SC lost on the road in conference on the same weekend that UiF lost AT HOME.

Alright, I never argued any of that so you're just going to bring it up in a totally different argument. No retort for the past 4 National Champs? Didn't think so. You're a homer. Done with this.

And Florida proceeded to annihilate a bunch of good teams and unbeaten Bama, while USC had nothing other than beating OSU.

Good teams? Which ones? The same Bama team that got undressed by Utah? I know you did not mean to say that LSU or UGA were good that year...or maybe you did? Did you mean FSU...or The Citadel?

Actually, I did respond to your NC argument. Maybe my answer was too subtle for you.

I don't know why a Pac-10 fan is here arguing about the SEC. On the list, the Pac-10 is in fourth place, behind the only conference they ever cared to acknowledge, the Big 10, and the other conference that truly matters, the Big 12.

You have to move up the polls to get a shot at the best. Keep trying.

Well, when the P10 schedules the SEC in OOC games for those shots, the P10 has the better record during Chris Low's time frame.
Hope that helps answer your question.

Don't be silly. UT is who has been stinking it up for the SEC.

Your conference is nowhere close to the SEC. That's why you have Kiffin. He prefers the easy street you have to the NC, but knows you just keep blowing every year. If he can get your guys to play a couple more game a year, you should be the shoe in that tOSU is. Do that, and you get your chance to prove your point.

Anything else, and you're relegated to all the BS stuff you're spewing here.

Haha...you forgot to mention the following SEC teams that have been stinking it up for your conference:
South Carolina
Mississippi St.
Kentucky
Vandy
Arky
Auburn
Ole Miss

That's certainly a better list of teams than is the bottom of your conference.

If you could beat teams like these consistently, you'd get your shot at the title and have your chance to prove your point.

Comparing the Pac10 to the SEC on our board simply confirms you're both a troll and a homer.

Really? Every team in the P10 since 1999 has either won or shared the conference championship. Wouldn't it be just totally awesome if you could make the same claim with the list I provided?

Not really. I'd prefer to have consistently good teams at the top, rather than a bunch of crap that allows Stanford to take over.

And thus we get to the crux of the SEC myth that says the SEC is the best conference.

SEC fan likes to puff out their chest talking about how impressive their won/loss records are, however, they're not willing to admit how those inflated records are achieved.

Tennessee typically has never shied away from playing strong OOC schedules, however, the rest of your conference would rather line up Cupcake U....then say, "look, we beat a 3-1 or 4-0 Ole Miss team."

Which is usually followed up with the canned SEC response, "why should we play a tough OOC schedule...we have to play in the SEC?"

Every conference has 2-3 good teams and 3-4 dogs but our middle 5 is better than everyone else. Funny how Pac10 guy (all 4 of you) are the only ones who argue that you're equal to the SEC. Everyone else in the country pretty much accepts we are the best overall conference top to bottom. So you guys are either smarter than the rest of the country or smoke too much medicinal weed.

That doesn't disprove anything. No one here will deny most SEC schools schedule pansies.

Just wondering, what was the average margin of defeat for Washington and Washington State last year? How do teams that have won championships in the past decade sink that low? Even Vanderbilt and Mississippi State can laugh at that.

All that means is there was essentially no consistency pre Southern Cal. And I'd be embarrassed to call that 2006 Cal team a conference champion. At least our conference champs don't get annihilated by 4 loss teams.

Also, Arizona would like to know why you aren't including them. And not that really matters, but UCLA won in 1998.

The SEC is the best football conference in the country. It is unanimous among every college football analyst in the country. Most of the country believes the SEC is the elite conference too.

I am sorry, but the Pac-10 isn't even in the top three... USC is a great football program, anyone who didn't believe that would be an idiot, but the SEC as a whole is simply better than the Pac-10.

On a serious note: What kind of penalties are USC looking at?

Do better players make better teams? The NFL thinks the best players are in the SEC. I think USC would regularly contend for championships in any conference but the rest of the Pac-10 wouldn't.

This is a little old but I would imagine it is more the case now with Florida's rise.

Southern Cal is the Jaguar of college football. Looks pretty in the showroom, but stalls on you at least once a year.

What kind of car loses once a year and then gives a tearful consolation speech?

You mean the one that routinely whups Tennessee's sorry butt and has won two Indy 500's, Daytona 500's, and Winston Cups in five years?

Dunno.'

But I would say that whoever that is has enough superiority and success over you right now that pretty much anything you throw at them comes back at you a thousand fold.

Now, run along and watch highlight films from the 1950s.

Gee. I thought what I saw was the guy sworn to "stamp out hypocrisy at every turn" criticizing a team for having a letdown game every so often while his own team has yet to claim an undefeated season. Now, run along and call some people racist while you converse with Joe Sixpack and try to decide who you want to vote for in the 2008 election.

Our let downs are against ranked teams and we recover to win championships.

Southern Cal's let downs are against 10th place PAC 10 trash.

When we lose that game, we regroup and focus on getting better. When Southern Cal loses, the respond with finger pointing and cash payments and free rental properties for star recruits.
