Everyone has a different list. Me, Sig 229, HK USP and FN 57. Don't overlook Taurus brand. I have a few of those that are golden.

The first two are on mine. My third would be a Beretta 92FS or a Colt 1911.

I have heard good things about Kimber models. Anything to it?

I have both the Beretta and the Colt MKIV and like them both...
I go back and forth on a Kimber or a Nighthawk custom, if I were to get another 1911

Kimber is good. You just need to cruise the internet for info to decide what interests you. Then, go to a gun shop to be able to hold each one to see how it fits and feels. To me, has to fit right an feel right to be considered. The Sig I have is not the best fit, but I practically stole from the dealer. Then, figure out what caliber you want and research some more. A good review on X brand 40 cal doesn't mean the same gun in 9 mm will have equal performance.

Thanks, old man. When I pick one out, I'm gonna run it by you. I know I have to be comfortable with it, but I wanna see if you sign off too.

Spent several years collecting pocketknives. Primarily older Case with stag or specialty bone and a few Pearl or abalone types. Also have quite a few of the higher end German brands. Mist of mine pre-date the transition to Chinese manufacturing. Looking for a great knife, Parker cutlery from several years ago was absolutely top shelf for the money. If I'm getting one to carry, I probably go older Parker, Case or Fighting Rooster. Some of the Solingen made Bokers were well done as well.

For camping I carry a stag handle Case Pheasant. Have ruined its value with use, but it's beautiful and very solid.

Parker is excellent, and I have seen some nice Fighting Rooster knives. For collector knives, I have several Taylor Cutlery and Frost Cutlery.
