Good pocket knife

Right now, it's sitting here on my desk. I usually have it or my S&W 5906 when I'm in the car. Usually the Smith. It shoots good and I have three factory high capacity clips for it=45 rounds plus the one chambered.

I think the Sig is around 35 ounces loaded.

I am not a hand gun guy but everyone I know that's eventually bought a glock says they wouldn't own another kind after that.

This is a pic of the gerber I was talking about. That finger ring doesn't sound that useful until you have one. Then you wish all knives did. The version I carry is 10 years old and has plastic but the new ones are all metal similar in design to te CRKT's.

What does that Gerber cost?

21 bucks, way worth it,
I've cleaned slippery fish,
Cut rope etc in a down pour
Used it in the height of summer when everything is covered in sweat and it's the most secure grip knife I've ever used.

I've had two Glocks. Never buy another one. But, that's just me. They are a popular piece.

I may look in to getting one. Does it have a clip to clip on to your jeans?

I have two Buck pocket knives, one three blade Rancher, and a smaller two blade for when I don't want a lot of weight in my pocket. Hard to get a good edge on, but keeps it well once you do get one.

Mine doesn't but they may make one. Mine came with a sheath I use.

Anyone ever made their own knife from a kit?

I made one of those green river knives a couple of years back and a leather sheath. It's too bulky for my preferences but it looks sweet. I'll take a pic and post it at some point.

This is the model knife kit I made, I'll post mine and the sheath when I dig it out. Anyone into making stuff with their hands that likes knives should do one of these. It takes minimal tools.
Rasps and files
Metal file
Sand paper
Iirc that should get the knife made.

does a leatherman count?

Great tool but not a great knife IMO.
Good for a worksite, toolbox, tacklebox, or truck but not the lightest knife for hiking around.
I have a tiny one called a squirt I use for backpacking but I stick with a good lightweight folding knife for all else.

Yeah it can be a bit cumbersome getting around with. I mostly have it at work since it doesn't add much weight since I have an old two way radio I have on my belt also.around town I either have it in my pocket (have rather large pockets) or I have a very small pocket knife that came with the leatherman.

And for that kind of application a leatherman is the shizz.

These are 2 picks of the green river knife works kit I assembled and the leather sheath I made to hold it. I later stitched a white heart bead and deer hair dangle on the sheath to add to it's look.
Definately no pocket knife but does good work on scalps, Lulz
