Good job Ainge (Merged)

Good folk, I've watched college football well over 30 decades. Few have been the times when I thought the fix was on but this afternoon's SEC championship game is a prime example of the fix was on IMO. Ainge throws that first 4th qtr pick that junior high kids are instructed not to throw out of their own end of the field in the flats which put LSU ahead. I gave him that as just a dumb play he made. Then he hit hits the LSU kid between the numbers for the last pick ending the game for UT and I smelled fix. Somebody needs to call the FBI because the team and staff did well enough to have won that game but Eric Ainge single handedly took it out of the team's hands. IMO money changed hands somewhere.:banghead2:

You're nuts! How was the game "fixed"? LSU was favored and UT didn't cove rthe spread...Vegas wins! Dumb theory...but I can see why you "might" see that if you have no idea how odds makers think

good night, all you ainge backers can take him and shove him up your rears.
I'm not saying Ainge played good at all today, but he has been a QB for 4 years, and I'm sure he isn't planning a party tonight. We don't need people saying how he was paid off.

I think you have to take it as it is...this forum being a type of therapy. We're a little upset and typing things out helps sometimes. I don't think anyone has crossed the line, and I find a lot of it a rather "feel good" amusement.

All year I have tried to give you the benefit of the doubt. But tonight you proved it, you can't stand the pressure, your decision making sucks and you are no where near as good as you think you are.

You team mates played their asses off for you and YOU let them down. I'm SOOO glad you are a senior. Bu-bye...Cya...don't let the door hit ya on the way OUT!!

LOL, 3 decades ya'll, forgive the fat finger trick! I don't believe I've seen a better effort at a college QB throwing a game. The 1st drive, good job, from that point forward the offense was anemic. Ainge single handledly gave LSU a 21 point swing, he took away 7 from us and gave them 7 which is 14 points, he took away our last shot at 7, 21 point swing overall and ensured an LSU victory singlehandledly. They probably need to erect a statue of Ainge in the LSU athletic department, one for his girly man interception back in the day, and for his throwin' the 2007 SEC championship game IMO.

Z06Vol- Dude, I'm not a little upset. To paraphrase Ving Rhames' character in Pulp Fiction, " I'm pretty mu%&^#@!in' far from only being a little upset." I'm tired of seeing UT football teams talented as they are basically collapse when confronted by other good football teams. Tonight, LSU did not beat UT. UT beat UT, and THAT ain't Volunteer football.

Well Iam upset with Ainge as well but is bashing each other going to help anything? I know we are all mad and upset and rightly so but one thing is for sure we will be here for our bowl game and then next year to watch Crompton play or Coleman so everyone take a chill pill and relax.

Insurance won't cover my chill pills. :hmm:

Hate to say it but Im glad Ainge is gone after this year.....He is not a leader and has required his hand held his entire run at QB.....OVerall I thought we played great but we needed a QB capable of stepping up in the big game and we diddnt have it and we havent had it througout AInges tenure at the helm....Sometimes I think Ainge thinks he is Peyton Manning but he is far from it....He looked scared and confused....made some good plays but basically looked like well.....Ainge

this isn't an Ainge bashing thread, the guy just had a bad night tonight.

My grief is that college football is changing, its been building over the last few years. The spread offense is growing in popularity and defenses are getting smaller and faster.

Name me one other team in the top 25 who has a QB that is incapable of picking up yards with his feet? There are pocket passers, but they still have the ability to pick up those 3rd and 3-5 yards if nothing is open.

Erik Ainge couldn't run for 3 yards if his entire family's life depended on it. The guy is a rock in the pocket, I've seen way too many situations this season and a few tonight where the run was wide open and Erik could moonwalk for a first down and still have time to slide.

I'm not asking for much, but having a QB that even has the possibility of picking up yards with his feet is a requirement now.

now then, Go Vols and bring on our bowl opponent

Ainge won't be missed i don't think. Still senior qb's shouldn't make those bonehead throws.

Ainge never really came back to full ability after getting hurt in the ND game in '04. Cutcliffe helped him some but the damage was done. Senior leadership on this team was not that strong our underclassmen played with more intensity and got better as they played. If we can find a decent QB there is some outstanding players on this team that will return. Sit Ainge and Heffney on the bench for the bowl game and start getting ready for next year. They had their chance and blew it today. Players like Eric Berry and Jerod Mayo are leaders by example.

Spring ball can't get here soon enough.

I can deal with mistakes like that from a freshman. I mean ainge was outplayed by a backup sophomore Qb with nine fingers. Heffney won't be missed either.

I think our QB situation is in good hands be it Crompton or Coleman. Both have big time arms Cut just has to train em up.

I hate just typing emotional stuff in the heat of the moment but I have never been able to stand Ainge and this just was the icing on the cake. It's just his whole attitude and play. I've yet to think he's just stuck his neck out there for the team ever. Plus, half the time he clearly misses the passes he looks around to pass blame to the refs, to his fellow players, to the coaches - to whoever besides himself. I honestly truly hope to God that we play anyone else in the bowl. At this point I could care less anyway because we are probably heading BACK to that God forsaken Georgia Dome for the hell that is the Peach Bowl again.

Please, please, please, please play anyone else but Ainge in the bowl. He's never won the big game and has constantly been a choke artist. He's "squeaked" wins out and rallied the team in some games but I've never seen him lead his team to a big win. He had the perfect chance tonight and single handedly lost it himself. I know he's a college kid and this is just a dang game but I never felt that he projected HEART in his play and I think that it's a dang shame.

Thanks Ainge.............at least you'll always be remembered as a choke artist and I'm not the only one who will have this opinion.

That pretty much summs it up right there....Ainge requires his hand being held out on the field....He is just a showboy and not a real player
