Good horror?

Just finished Conjuring Last Rites. It was ok. First one by far the best. The rest were mostly forgettable.

I liked the 2nd one about Enfield. However, in reality, Ed and Lorraine showed up at the Enfield house in North London uninvited, and were initially denied entry. The movies have played them up big time. LOL.

2nd was definitely better than 3 and 4 but nowhere near 1. I remember nothing about 3.

Don't know if I would call it good, but did watch a Norwegian werewolf movie a couple of nights ago.

Reptile

Starring Benecio Del Toro and Alicia Silverstone. Worth a watch.
EDIT: this a crime drama, not horror.

Watched 3 recently:

Sinners - definitely not what I expected and I’ll leave it there. Decent movie and worth a watch. It’s a couple difference genres masked into 1.

Home for Rent - also caught me a little off guard, and also a decent movie worth watching. Give me a good supernatural cult movie any day!

Together - this one was different. Putting some character annoyances aside, I kind of liked it. It’s weird for sure, but it held my attention and had some unique things.

Watch Black Phone 2. It’s decent. At moments, it reminded me of Sinister, but it’s not as good of course. It’s worth a watch though.

Went back and rewatched From Black too. That’s another solid one. It has some similarities to A Dark Song and I haven’t seen that in a while so I might rewatch that too.

Primate .... 6/10

It's your standard "domesticated wild animal goes berserk" fare. A rabid chimp who lives in a mansion with a rich guy attacks his guests at a pool party one night. A side effect of rabies is a fear of water, so these pool party goers (mostly hot young girls in bikinis) are forced to take refuge in the pool. Which is kind of like Cujo but in a swimming pool rather than a broken down old car.

It's okay .... but nothing surprising ever happens.

Who thinks of this stuff? “I’m going to write a script about a chimp getting rabies and going wild on his rich owner and guests at the owner’s mansion.” And then whoever was surrounding the writer, “Dude, that sounds awesome!” I’m guessing munchie-inducing drugs were involved all the way around.
