I don't think it was the sort of game that ANYBODY expected.

Kentucky blew its chances in the kicking game, as well as poor play execution in the red zone.

Congratulations.

That was a strange game. It didn't feel like either defense did much to stop anybody, but there were only 29 points scored all day long.

We had a rough turnover to give you a field goal, had a blocked field goal, and were stopped twice (I think) deep in the red zone. I think that they sprayed player repellant in the end zones in the pre game.

ok Brian,I will say it was a good game by Kentucky, but I still thought there would be more points scored and a higher score win by us.

GAVol, "weird" is definitely a good way to describe this one. Can't recall such a strange game in a while.

I agree. Both teams had their share of red zone issues.

hehe, high praise from givehim6! :)

I thought it would be close, but I didn't expect it to be so low-scoring.

It was like the offenses had a panic attack when they got close to the endzone.

I don't know what the final total was, but I think there were about 3 punts total which is really odd for such a low scoring game.

I'll go a step further: Kentucky probably outplayed Tennessee. Lots of missed opportunities; Kentucky seems to have trouble closing out winnable games. If the Seiber kid hadn'tve missed the short field goal earlier, it would have been 17-15, and the delay of game penalty would have been a non-issue. Highly questionable playcalling by Rich Brooks/Joker Phillips as well - a run play on 4th and 3?

That was the best Kentucky team I've seen since the Hal Mumme years. They get all of the skill position players back; I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull off a big upset or two next year.

And yes, it was a very, very strange game. Lots of yards piled up for only 29 points scored.

Several good points here. If Seiber hits the extra point and field goal, then it's 17-16, and we only need the fg to go ahead.

I agree that the playcalling in the RZ was suspect on Kentucky's behalf. We were gashing you at the edge, and we got conservative by running it up the middle inside the 10.

Thanks, BM. UK definitely made it a lot closer than I would have liked or even expected. I just can't figure out how UL-Monroe put 40 points on the 'Cats and the Vols couldn't manage 20...

The players admitted that they were looking past ULM to Tennessee and had a really bad week of practice.

Shoot, KY did beat UGA this year - I realize UGA is down, but they're still a pretty good team. The fact that KY was playing for 2nd in the SEC East was a tremedous step up for that program.

Sanders was in Chavy`s head. Kentucky`s D was puttin the hurt on us. HARD hits! I hope everyone is OK.

In typical Sanders-esque fashion, you took a delay of game penalty on the 3 yard line, with the game yours for the taking.

Postgame show said they were trying to call timeout from the sideline, but the refs didn't hear/see them.

I am no RS fan (as an offensive coordinator) but this is ridiculous Daddy. I am much more concerned about the fact that the UK offense looked sharper and more prepared for this game.

I'm amazed that Chavis let so many KY screen plays break out for decent yards! Everybody and their brothers know that Sanders is screen pass-happy!

On another note- kudos to Sanders for exploiting one of our biggest weaknesses: defending the option. I can think of at least 4 option plays that KY ran with good success.
