Most of the VN thought this game would be a close, tough contest. You're just looking to stir things up but we have more important things to be thinking about now, the Sweet Sixteen!:p

Do you mean walkon JaJuan Smith? Or do you mean the guy that none of the Kentucky schools would offer a scholarship? Or do you mean the guy from the Bronx no one wanted because of his weight?

While I only got to see portions of the UT/Butler game, it should not have gone to OT. The Vols have got to play their best game of the NCAA tournament this coming Thursday to advance against Louisville. Louisville is the toughtest opponent thus far. Advance and it gets even tougher against North Carolina.
The Vols need to hit 52% plus from the field and 70-75% from the the foul line and hit 35-40% from the 3 point range. Do this and we advance.
GO VOLS! While I'm happy with the wins, I'm not totally satisfied with their play. Rebounding is another important factor if a team is to advance in the tournament. You have to out rebound your opponent by at least 10 more.

Fittingly, Tyler Smith might have been the one to save his team with a spectacular block of an A.J. Graves drive with 39 seconds to play. Graves looked like he had a clear path to the basket, but Smith came out of nowhere to swat the ball off the backboard.

It was extremely close to goaltending, and even Smith admits he was half-waiting to hear a whistle.

"I thought they were going to call it," Smith said. "I'm surprised they gave it to me ... and happy they did."

ESPN - Point made for Tennessee guards - Men's College Basketball

It came down to more than just this play, but it was a very big call that did not go our way, and ultimately sank the ship.

Feel fortunate that they sided with the 2 seed...

That's right, you saw all those coming from your crystal ball, didn't you? (Including Butler would win today). Mr. Rational, please leave our unreasonable Tennessee Volunteers alone and find some other places to promote your Butler.

I expect Tennessee to win today, and they did. No disrespect to Butler. I know Butler returned 3 (maybe 4) starters from last year's decent team, and honestly I was quite surprised Butler was not in a lot of pre-season top 25. I thought Butler might make a run at tournament, and they did. But unfortunately, Butler met Tennessee.

Please leave us alone, and I wish you a good Easter.

Ramar's teardrop was huge. The silly foul on JJ when green was running like a freight train was huge. Green being bailed out by the officials all day was huge. the crazy looking 3rd foul on chism was huge. Lofton's OT 3 was huge and Green's 3 was equally huge. Campbell not liking the second half D was huge. Many huge aspects of that game. That block was just part of the action.

Seriously, man. Graves was the worst. He was getting Michael Jordan-like respect with how he was able to use his free hand on drives to "wade" through defenders without getting a whistle.

I have to give some of our players props. I would have probably spontaneously combusted on the spot with some of those no-calls.

Yeah I dont remember who was guarding him but I think it was T Smith. Graves drove to the rim and on the replay you could see Graves' entire hand grasping Smith's forearm to keep him away and Smith got called for the foul.

Move on buddy. The no-call was a good call because the ball was still going up when Smith hit it.

Congratulations on your moral victory Butler. Of course a moral victory means you lost, but you are now in the moral Victory sweet sixteen. Say high to Belmont and aTm while you are there.

Glad you take pride in the moral victory (a.k.a. "loss") and found a play to complain about. Now, enjoy the in-flight peanuts on your way back to. . . .well, wherever Butler is.

Those refs really hated you. I guess that's why we had more fouls whistled against us, even though Tyler Smith was knocked to the floor on at least three occasions. I also am really impressed with Howard's acting abilities. If a member of my team took such a cowardly dive when an opponent touched his jersey, I'd be too ashamed to show my face on this site.

i was wondering in the second half why we were even bothering with guarding that kid. it was clear pretty early on that he couldn't put a basketball through a 10 foot hoop if he was standing in it.
