Last night I ran into a friend that’s currently on the Georgia staff. Here are some things he said:

1. Watching film, Tennessee has a lot of talent. The offense is genereric and the offensive line doesn’t attack. They thought they’d win but not 41-0.

2. Kirby is under a lot of pressure coaching his alma mater. The staff asked him to trust them this year and he has relaxed a little.

3. Bob Stoops was a guest at their practice last week. He said Bob said that there was no way he’d coach again. Said he was done and lost the passion.

4. I asked him what everybody talks about when Tennessee is discussed. He said that his players make fun of the Butchisms especially life champions. In the locker room at halftime, somebody (he wouldn’t say who) shouted let’s go finish off the life champions. How embarrassing is that???

4. I asked about the grumers. He said they obviously haven’t heard anything but thinks Kelley and patrino is definitely in the mix. He said some of the coaches said they’d be concerned a little with Gruden because of the hype on recruiting.

4. He said they are fixing to blast Florida and try to score some serious points. He said Kirby may call off the dogs if he gets to feeling sorry for Jim lol!

5. He said they didn’t watch film on Tennessee like they usually do because Tennessee doesn’t have but a hand full of plays.

6. He’s been on three staffs (1 DII, 1ACC, and 1SEC) and played on an SEC team in the mid 2000s. He said Tennessee is the worst coached team he’s ever studied. I about cried but I already knew it.

While this would normally elicit a "cool story, bro" meme - I am sad to say it smacks as far too accurate

That is just sad IF true.....we don't know if it is or isn't..BUT if true the part of the story where Tennessee only runs 12-20 offensive plays just makes me want to lose so we can get a freakin offensive mind that will have a playbook of about 100 plays (I have NO idea how many plays a Div I team has?? 200 plays in the playbook??

While that stuff may be true. Your buddy is taught to pile on which they do in negative recruiting.

So he said they didn't watch a lot of film because we only have a handful of plays but while watching film we have a ton of talent?

The pile is too big for him to make a difference.

Not buyin it. I don’t care how few plays we have. Teams are always going to look at other teams film. Lot more to film besides plays

Georgia remembers Lane Kiffin who went undefeated against Georgia. His team is scoring. Bring him back. Lol

Exactly. That's what I was eluding to with the negative recruiting. That stuff he told OP is what the coaches are programmed to tell families of kids they are recruiting.

This is the most intriguing info. We all know what we see as fans but this has been going on for couple years, covered up by Dobbs and DB, Sutton, Kamara, etc. KY is going to torch us...shame.

Coaches are the biggest gossips and liars in the country. They make used car salesmen look legit.

That said, he's probably not pulling your leg too much. Especially the part about Gruden pubilicity in recruiting

Pretty much is that same thing McElwain said in 2015....

"You just don't lose to Tennessee"

Chip and Petrino definitely will not be in the mix. Not sure if it still exists but at one time a so called unwritten rule that no SEC team will hire Petrino as a HC had been out there. Still think that exists. And hiring Chip isn't something that would be cut and dry in the SEC. I don't remember the full context of it but the SEC has a rule about hiring Headcoach's who previously had recruiting violations and other similar discipline issues. Someone had posted it earlier just don't remember the exact process but it involves permission from the conference, SEC president or something along those lines. Definitely not as simple as just hiring him without going through red tape and other stuff. Never saw Chip ever being considered at UT and still don't. Not that anyone in Georgia's,s AD Department or coaching staff has a clue who the candidates are but saying those 2 were in contention just confirmed it.

Yeah, that rule definitely applies in basketball with Cal and Pearl being hired.

**** unwritten rules. If bama just had 118 yd offense and wanted to hired Petrino, do you think they'd let a "gentlemans agreement " stop them? Hell no!

Petrino or Les Miles would be great hires in my opinion. Who cares if Petrino had a girlfriend & Miles can coach. As Al Davis always said just win baby. Butch Jones has ruined Tennessee football. If not for Josh Dobbs it would have happened last year. Nice guy but a poor coach..... Look for many players to transfer if a new coach is not in place soon. JMO

Petrino would be like juggling hand grenades. Just a mater of time before his dirty program or off duty behavior re-derail our program.

Fuente or Mullen would be low risk top shelf hires and affordable.
