Tennessee did open as a -1.5 favorite, but I believe Wichita State ended up being favored closer to game time.

NegaMartins will spin this any way they can, such as it's a home game, but this is a great win.

They attempted to play zone we just attacked it like we should have been doing. They quickly got out of the zone. By that time it was kind of late and we were getting to the free throw line.

They went in zone for five minutes. UT got to the line twice and Jordan hit a three in transition if I am correct. WSU then went into a full court trap, then back into man.

My reasons for this win, in order of importance:

1) Home game.

2) Wichita State's defense is less of an issue for our personnel.

3) Pace was quicker. Not sure if that's a chicken-or-egg deal, but it seemed like the team had better energy. Could be nothing.

Hold up, new #1, move everything else down) Message board haters. I have it on good authority that Cuonzo read several posts from this very message board to the team, both pregame and at halftime--not for the purpose of motivation, but rather for instruction. Such was the sound reasoning contained therein. One of my neighbor's friends owns a printing shop, and per him Cuonzo is getting a banner made with an inspirational quote from the board. Probably one of the posts calling for his firing. Just a guess on that part, though.

Thought I was watching a KY home game there for a while.

Your comment was from the previous games which we primarily were defended by zone defenses. As for the better offensive execution tonight, well WS didnt play zone.

They set up a half court zone for two possessions in the second half. Then they went to a half court trap, then to a back court wing pressure with man in the front court.

Gotcha. I was thinking of a man match up. On the zone it's all about picks and passing. We have to get better at flashing to the FT line and touch passing to the bloack when the zone collapses.

I agree. We need to penetrate the zone or knock down open shots. My guess is we will have more luck with the former.

Since you seem to think you know it all and how to attack a zone or man defense, it's amazing you don't have countless offers to become the head coach at a number of major Div I programs. I'm shocked. They should give you a call.

I think this multiple times a day, it's amazing how many Phil Jackson's are on this board and have all the answers.
