UT =/= UK, bud. I can't believe I actually have to point this out.

Calipari =/= Martin, bud. I can't believe I actually have to point this out.

My point wasn't to compare the UK and UT programs. UK went out a hit a coaching homerun. UT went out and got called out looking.

Please give a list of high dollar coaches interested in the TN job, with sanctions looming, that could have brought recruiting classes with them.
And before you say sanctions weren't a problem, that was the first question the media asked him.

What recruits did we lose because of the investigation?
We didn't lose recruits specifically because the investigation, but the concerns surrounding the program certainly hurt Martin's chance to get anything going early on. Also, it doesn't help that both recruits he inherited couldn't qualify.

$3M a year increases interest.

High dollar coaches only listen to high dollar offers. We never went there.

Your present AD pretty much answered the question on that if you bothered to listen to him.

By December 2012, when Fulmer receives his final paycheck from a $6 million buyout, UT will have paid $9,100,385.53 in buyout money to the five, high-profile coaches Hamilton has fired.
Add $1.3 for the Hamilton buy out and there's your money for hiring big time coaches.

If Martin had a quarter of Dixon's resume he'd get a pass too..
Sorry I missed this one.
You've evidently never seen Dixon's resume when he was hired at Pitt.
Talk about being handed a silver spoon.
Dixon who's only HC experience was a little secondary school in New Zealand, took over a program built by Ben Howland that was already winning 20+ games a season and going to the show on a regular basis.
Yes that's some resume.
Try again.
How about a quarter of Stevens' resume when hired by Butler.
He's 8-7 this year. Good bye Brad.

How many times did Howland take Pitt to the NCAA? Not really what I'd call a "regular basis".

Interestingly enough, you could change out the names in your post to Martin and Pearl. Try again.

Dixon took over and has had a decade of winning. If Martin sniffed that success I'd be thrilled. Good grief.

UT is one of a few schools to operate the AD on a profit. I think we'll be OK and have plenty of money to pay a real coach. Hamilton just went out and hired on the cheap trying to hit a homerun in attempts to save his job. It didn't work.
