Gonna be Pruitt.

Correct, for obvious reasons. Just can't help but feel like they'll roll him out there, and tell us to be patient (see year 0). Then we'll do it again in 4 years. If we are being honest it's all about winning, and that's something we don't care about anymore.

I agree with you. It seems like we are headed for yet another rebuild. Another year zero so to speak.

We passed on: Miles, Taggert, Norvell, Campbell, LEACH, Fuente, Morris, Sumlim, Dantonio, Babers, Wilcox etc... So landing a coach with no experience is about as Tennessee as it gets.... Sigh :(

Ok. Show me where Dantonio, Fuente, Wilcox, Sumlin, and Taggert wanted the job.
Sumlin shuts talks down before anyone even offered.
Babers hell no.
Cambell buyout way to F'n' high.
The only person on your list was Norvell but 1 year doesnt prove anything. Great year but still small sample size. Not trying to argue but Pruit is better than alot of guys on the list.

Then how come he beat the other two teams that are basically built like sec teams? USC and Stanford?

How did he get curbstomped by a mediocre Arizona and a terrible Cal? Also, if Leach is such a genius, why didnt Oklahoma hire him when Stoops left? They hired one of his disciples. But you have to ask yourself, why hire the student when you can get the master? You telling me Leach wouldnt jump for OU?

People make the argument all the time like, well if Fulmer was so good why didnt anyone hire him. Same thing with Miles. Well I say the same exact thing about Leach. If he is such a genius, why didnt Florida or Georgia go after him? How about USC? Oregon? Texas?

You're leaving out that some of those turned us down, not that we passed.

I want leach but he’s only had a good defense one year. So I can see why it’s a concern.

#15 total defense = #47 scoring defense.

If Pruitt can assemble a staff that can recruit talent and build offensive and special teams units and maintain his defensive output things could work out pretty decent. jmo.

Because teams lose games. I think the reason why no big program has taken a chance on Leach is because he simply will not put up with their bs. Then you have the Craig James’ son and the closet thing, of which Leach was proven innocent. I think he’s been blacklisted. Simple as that.

It’s clear he’s a good coach, but he’s not coming here. So we’re wasting our time discussing the matter. It’s still sad though, that offense with elite athletes would’ve been scary.

One thing that keeps getting lost in all of this is if we get their DC and their linebackers coach not only are we getting some good staff we are also taking away from Bama :)

Mike Leach interviewed for the job. He was interested. We passed because Phil doesn't want to admit Currie did something right because he is petty. **** that
This is spot on. Fulmer is our Fat Albertross. He's been weighing us down for 15 years now. We need to exorcise him if we ever want to be competitive again.

If you truly believe we PASSED on all of these guys, then I'd hate to hear the rest of your belief systems.

If you want a national top recruiter and the best defensive mind in the nation who will have a team that plays with an attitude and swag. Pruitt will give you all of that. Alabama’s Linebackers coach is rumored to come and be our DC. Pruitt is young and is just beginning his coaching career. People can’t look past the fact he’s just a coordinator or pop their heads from their collective asses to see this guy is a star about to be born. We have a chance to get this dude right when he’s ready to be forged into a legit HC. Not a retread. Not someone who’s been to 3 different schools as a HC etc. He would end up being OUR signature figure head coach much in the way Dabo has become Clemson’s or Saban has become Alabama’s.

I have been really unimpressed with Fulmers coaching search up until right now. Pruitt is NOT Kevin Steele. He’s an ELITE coordinator the likes of which are few and extremely far between. This is another Jimbo Fisher or Kirby Smart. Pruitt has been extremely successful at many schools and his defenses are always elite. Success follows him around. That’s a good sign.

Fulmers list was the equivalent of a piece of soggy toilet paper imo. But he may have pulled a daisy out of a dungeon on this hire.

If we bring in Tee and keep Gillespie. We could genuinely, no bullsh*t, have one of the most elite recruiting coaching staffs in this country. Pruitt will rack up on blue chip players. Watch and see. I was extremely pessimistic less than 24 hours ago. But I am fully on board with Jeremy Pruitt. I think this could work out perfectly for us.

What I been trying to say....glad someone else gets it

Gotta support our future coach and not be so negative. All the negativity certainly won’t help anything in any way, it only brings the whole program down. If we’re gonna have a coordinator as our next HC, then out of the options we’ve heard I’d rather it be a guy who had time to learn a thing or two from Saban about what it takes to be a good HC.

Pruitt would be an excellent hire, if we get him after this chit show of a search. For those that say otherwise, I challenge you to list someone / anyone who has a better resume, that we had a realistic chance of getting. I'm betting few if any names are posted.

Kiffin.
