Thinking about getting a new driver for the first time in awhile. I still use the Ti Launcher 460 with a stiff shaft. No fancy shaft or anything. I hit it pretty well, but there's no way I'm not losing yards, which I need because it seems like I'm losing yds every year for the past 4-5 years. I need suggestions. Don't like Nike and don't like the face of the Big Bertha. Ball flight is basically straight or cut. Thanks.

Krank Rage. Not another driver on the market is longer. Currently dominating ReMax LDA.

Honestly, go to one of the fitting joints and get them to match you with a ball and shaft combo that optimizes flight and spin. You'll be happiest that way. Head doesn't much matter as you can get that with a draw or fade bias or get neutral in almost any model.

I've lost yards for the past 5 or 6 years also, which I think is common to most golfers especially amatures when you get older. I started losing some distance after I turned 40 then I ruptured my L5 disc and lost a lot more due to even less flexability, but what I lost in distance I've gained in accuracy, I've never hit more fairways than I do now, took me all these years to understand that my game is much better from the short grass.

When it comes to golf purchases I treat the driver same as every other club in the bag which is, if it feels good in my grip, sets up better and suits my eye better than what I'm presently hitting I'll buy it. I hit Calloway from the tee for years, first the Big Bertha then switched to the Hyper X and I've now switched over to the Adams Speedline, a 9 degree with a stiff Voodoo shaft, for my money it's the best driver I've ever hit.

Funny thing about Taylormade, I play the Taylormade r7 TP irons and love them but they've yet to make a driver that I cared for in the least.

Best golf advice you'll ever get right here.

Everyone knows my issues with spraying a driver. My Ping i15 seems to have solved them for the most part.

Although I think the biggest turnaround most assuredly is the fact I'm not getting stuck quite as much. Maybe some of that is confidence in the new driver. Hopefully it continues. Makes rounds a lot more enjoyable when you're in your own fairway.

Going now. Good advice. Just did the same at seemore putting and I knocked @ 6 putts off my rounds. Nothing like breaking in a new driver the day before the masters at sugarloaf.

Fwiw, I gotta go back tomorrow. I can't walk in and swing on those things because my swing mechanics rely upon my damn injuries and beer intake. I can't think, or I'm doomed. Going to have a few beers tomorrow, then get fitted.
