We have a group coming in Thursday before the Texas A&M game. We got cabin in the mountains, wanted to play some golf. Anyone familiar with the Sevierville Golf Club courses?

sevierville golf club is fantastic, 27 holes too. Island Pointe is fun also, but Sevierville Golf is great and has great amenities.

Thanks yall. Gonna check some of these out.

Sevierville is far and away the best course in the area. It's immaculate and could justify being private.

But Gatlinburg Golf Course is a fun experience. Front 9 is a pretty typical course, but the back 9 winds all through the mountains and has an amazing "cliff side" par 3. You basically hit off a cliff down to a green that's so far down it looks tiny.

Everyone should play that course at least once in their life.

Played the Gatlinburg golf course a few times. Pretty well maintained and not so difficult you won't enjoy yourself. Amazing views in the fall. Of course, that goes without saying.

Sevierville is awesome but I also love playing Island Point (formerly known as River Islands). The fairways are zoyisa and usually in great shape. Greens are usually good, but I've seen them not great as well. Admittedly haven't played it this year yet though. If you want a real challenge, play Island Point from the tips.

You can't go wrong with either. What about Laurel Valley (in Townsend)- anyone played that recently. It's been a long time since I played that but remember it being fun and very easy - every 5 is reachable and you can drive a lot of the par 4's. There is also Lambert Acres which could be an option.

It really depends on what you are looking for. If you are decent golfers that want a challenge and a nice course - then choose Sevierville or Island Point. If you want something easy and you are hackers, then maybe Laurel Valley or Lambert Acres. Ruggles Ferry off Strawberry Plains is also nice and fairly easy too.
