*tied 4th 🤡

2-0 vs the Top 25 in 2025.

He inherited a USF program that slumped to 1-11 with a winless run through American Conference play in 2022 and had won just four games over three seasons under former coach Jeff Scott. Golesh pulled off a quick turnaround, becoming the first Bulls coach to lead the program to bowl eligibility in each of his first three seasons.
I think Golesh could be a great hire for Auburn. It's not a slam dunk that he will, though. Billy Napier went 7-7, 11-3, 10-1 and 12-1 at Louisiana. We see how that translated to the SEC at Florida.
Also, I'm pretty sure Miami was ranked when they played USF this season. I don't think I dreamed that they were boat raced in that game.
Again, so nobody misunderstands me, I think Golesh is a good hire for Auburn considering the available candidates and he may very well have a lot of success there. He should not be considered in the same breath as Josh Heupel to this point as a head coach, though.

If he doesn’t have a Hyatt type player who can take the top off a defense it won’t matter.
They had a receiver last night run thru Bama several times. He'll do fine in AU. Hopefully he will bring Banks down to Auburn to coach the defense.

He took over a program that went 4-26 under Jeff Scott, what he did in 3 years is amazing. If he’s fired in 3 years it’s because AU misunderstands their place in the pecking order and overvalues their floor for success, not because he wasn’t actually successful in the rest of the CFB world’s view.
Again you are missing the point. Golesh may be better than Scott but there’s a lot of differences here.

Scott was competing with ranked programs like UCF and and SMU and Houston and Cincy that went to major bowls and were good. Also he didn’t have NIL money like Golesh has had (the most in G5)

Those big programs left the AAC and were replaced by Charlotte, UTSA, FAU etc. and Golesh despite having the most talent pool and the most NIL $ finished 5th in the conference. Losing to less talented teams for three years including navy, rice, uab etc

He is 1-8 vs conference teams with a winning record so his wins which are still only 23-15 have been against some of the worst teams in FBS
