2-0 with wins over 2 top 25 teams, UF being the bigger scalp.

“You see some of the Iowa State traits, too (after talking about him at UT) in terms of the evaluation process," Napier said. "Golesh kind of got his start as the recruiter there, did a nice job organizing those processes, and then he's a really bright offensive mind, too."

Edit

South Florida, who beat then-No. 25 Boise State last week, is just the fourth unranked team in the Poll Era (since 1936) to win its first two games of a season against AP-ranked opponents, joining 2012 Oregon State, 2008 East Carolina and 1976 North Carolina, according to ESPN Research.

I wonder whether the South Florida message board posters are fretting over the possibility of Golesh returning to UT once Heupel returns to Oklahoma.

Fla. has tried the upstart coach's with not much luck. I think this time they go for a little more experience! They could look towards Lane Queifin. Oooppss, darn spell check.

GBO

Kinda gonna depend whether Lane gets Ole Miss over the hump and into the playoffs this season.

This year may be their last best shot with the schedule changes coming.

I have a weird feeling that this is gonna be one of those years where the SEC gets in 4 teams and 3 of them are obvious. You're gonna have about 5 teams angling for that 4th spot (us, Bama, Ole Miss, maybe A&M, South Carolina, probably some others I'm missing)

I think they end up with Golesh. Obviously and up and comer. Experience in both thr SEC and florida
I agree. Worth noting that both USF and UF operate under the same Board of Governors and both schools are searching for a President now. That means neither school has high admin leadership in place and high level decisions will go upstairs to Board of Governors.

Assuming Golesh wants to be HC at UF, his agent will be able to name the price. The only thing that I can see stopping this is another big name school offering him a job.

I think this is his last year at USF; he's done an unbelievable job resurrecting a program that was a 5 alarm dumpster fire before him.

Huge assumption.

Y’all are overlooking his history in middle America. If he’s poached, who’s to say it’s not by a B1G school? Or, if there’s musical chairs in the SEC, who’s to say he’s not grabbed by the forlorn (likely a school from the west)?
