Haha. That is so speculative and nothing has ever been shown to support this. Oh the irony that someone "believes" Martin played a part while criticizing people who were questioning the initial reason.

What I was told, I took at face value because I trusted the source. The reason for the transfer I was told was slightly different or an incomplete version of what is currently being reported.

Weather or not my trust in the source was was relayed in my early posts is up for debate. I am human, and sometimes personal bias can reflect through relaying information.

If we are going to get technical, it is the coach who regardless of the situation is responsible for kicking a player off the team

That last part is not true. If this is a plagiarism/academic issue Golden is being removed from the school as a student thus making him unable to be on the basketball team. Martin had no hand in his dismissal if it comes from the university. Same would go for failing too many drug tests. That's the AD, not the coach, dismissing a player.

I doubt that this will be a popular sentiment :), but I'm pretty impressed with how CCM handled it (repeatedly saying that he and the team all wished the best for Golden and dropping no hints), Tobias for backing off his original angry tweets and supporting the Vols, and of all people, Trae for positive posts and expressing appreciation for his time here.

If this is a plagiarism case, and wow, the Herman Melville tweet sure raised my eyebrows, it's obviously all on him, but at least he isn't going out sulking and kicking tin cans down the road.

We will know for sure if it's academic related if Golden can't get into a school next year because he didn't have the grades. This will all come out eventually. Most of the people who have a lot of sources have said that it is academic related. We'll see who was telling the truth in the end.

With that said, the OP was correct in that Golden would be transferring. The rest was just arguing fine points and the reason why. I've read that a lot of stuff is going on within the hoops program and some other things still might hit the fan. I thought we were in the clear after Stokes and McRae came back. There still might be something else come out.

Sounds to me like Martin is protecting Trae and they are going to agree to part ways without the University having to boot him from school. And again, it's not "grades" according to sources. It's academic in nature, but not "grades."

He only played the 2 because he was on the same team as Corn Elder. Corn can't play any other position, so Darius stepped to the other spot (team player). Most colleges?? Like Butler, Auburn, Virginia, Vandy, and UT....all recruited him as a Point Guard.

I agree he is not polished and a finished product, but wouldn't say "lots" of development. The skills he has and is the best at, is exactly what this team needs. He can develop the rest as he gets experience.
