Lexington is without a doubt the coldest stadium I have ever been to...I was there in 1981 after the ice storm and the wind was whipping around that place.....You were litterly stuck to your seat..Just a miserable experince and on top of that We lost...Gahhhh!
That was miserable. Damned ice was still on my seat. Young and dumb, I came poorly prepared. By midway second half, my buddies and I had and had seen enough so went left and avoided seeing the final gun.

Eat at the Copper River Grille..........you wont be dissapointed. Get the white chocolate banana pudding to go cause you gonna be full of the good food. Last time I was up there we parked in a neighborhood that was parking cars in the yards. We had no idea where the stadium was so we just followed the blue folks into the woods near the houses and when we came out on the other side there was the stadium. Everyone is saying bring a coat and I will add multilayers, thermal socks, gloves, tobagan for ears. Once your ears get cold its over! Also be prepared to hear C A T S C A TS Cats Cats Cats! Over and Over!

I couldn’t wear anything Duke but if could I would definitely wear a Laettner jersey to Lexington.
A few years ago we attended a UT-KY game in Lexington; Cat fans were loud, but the only angry BOOs were when a guy wearing a Duke shirt strolled down the aisle beside us. YES, they still hate Christian Laettner.

I went to the swamp Peyton’s senior year. I don’t know why anybody lives there. Cheap land I guess.
It's a natural habitat for alligators, mosquitoes and cotton mouths. Perfect home for them.

I can attest to Copper River Grill. I worked at one back in Greenville, SC years back. Very good food, huge portions. Get the prime rib sandwich or the cedar plank salmon.

It’s not Miami that’s for sure. Unless you’re in Miami, Ohio…

Losing would definitely make it colder. I hope to do a lot of cheering to keep the blood warm.
No it's Miami Florida lol...Haven't had any really cold games down here...However, i have went through some insane rain games over the years during Marlin and Dolphin games...My god it floods so quickly that you are litterly wading through deep water in the stadium and the parking lot....P.S Dress for that weather up there, that stadium will freeze you to death...The wind whips through there and will feel ike its cutting you in half...Be safe on your trip!

I will be cheering for the Vols in Lexington Saturday night. While I’ve been to Lexington many times, I have never been to a game there. For some reason it has always been a game I have wanted to go to.

Any advice?

Where to park?

Where to eat?

Does Kentucky have any game day activities worth watching?

Thanks for any input. Volnation is the best (the fans and the site)!

After we win, make sure to let them know you’re looking forward to basketball season, too.

One of the best times I have had was going to the last Florida State-Miami game in the old Orange Bowl. I loved all the Cuban food in the area and that old stadium was kind of classic. Not a bad seat in the whole house. You really felt like you were part of the game.

Use your Kroger card when you buy concessions. Might save some on gas

Bundle up. Something about that stadium, it gets very cold. It’s a glorified high school stadium, the fans are usually pretty decent. Last time I went, I sat behind the Tennessee bench surrounded by blue, but they were mostly decent folks. This was the 2007 game too so I thought I was gonna be trampled but luckily Sieber’s field goal was blocked.

1. its not hostile like Rupp so youll probably be ok.

2.Take a zippo lighter. Show it to the old timers and see what their response is.

What's the reference to the zippo lighter?
so the deal with the Zippo is had they not screwed over the Bear Kentucky basketball may not be the only power. Kentucky football may have had all of Alabama football success. Who knows. Only the old legitimate true Kentucky fans probably even know of it. Most of their football fanbase is Johnny come lately and don't pay attention except in years like this when Kentucky happens to be decent. Any other year couldn't tell you 5 players on their roster.
