ok i think im going to go ahead and book a hotel so i dont have to stay somewhere im going to have to drive longer from the hotel!

im excited to go! Kiffen said we would be singing all night! haha

Good luck. The hotels are usually booked up for the fall well in advacne. All 10 of them anyway. You'll probably be better off getting a room in Lake City, about 40 mins north on I-75.

I have been to Gainesville for the last 5 games (99-07). I've never had a problem. I always had tickets prior to heading down so I can't be of much help there. As for the fans, as long as you have thick skin you will be fine. The students like to have a good time, so they are the rowdiest when it comes to trash talk. Just smile and wave boys, and throw a little talk back their way and you will be fine.

As for my experiences when we won down there 01 and 03, their fans were not bad at all after the game (most of them were really quiet). In 07 I was more ticked off by our play and think no one wanted to bother me as I didn't have anything said to me after the game.

I agree. I think the Swamp is a must go for a college football fan. Yes, they will yell at you and talk bad about Tennessee, but that's football.

We'll just all crash at your house.

sounds good to me!haha

I've actually thought about that before but my wife and I are living in a 1 bedroom apt temporarily. Anybody vistiting now would be sharing a couch with my dog who farts in his sleep.

When we're in our house, I would love to have a VN gathering here in Gainesville on a gameday.

I am going. I also went the last time when UT got thumped 59-20.

I am very confident that it will be a lot closer this time around.

I've decided the Navy does not need my services throughout college football season, so I expect to pay a little over a grand on the game, the plane there and back, the room for a weekend, the alcohol, and most likely--bail.

All I can say is, God help those players if they let the UF game this year get out of hand because the practice that will await them when they get back to knoxville will be one of the hottest fire and brimstone practices EVER known to mankind...This coaching staff will not accept failure...But then again maybe getting our butts blown out again might really wake this staff up to what is needed...Hard to say

Did he say "next year"? I'm thinking 2011 in Gville. I lived in Florida for a short time during our great run and National Championship, fans were not bad. I actually knew more fans from other schools than from UF...Half my neighborhood was from the "little 10" or other SEC schools.

Do me a favor and rip the "e" key off your keyboard. You've lost the privilege of using it.

My father in law is retired UF faculty....tickets practically in hand.

I still have memories of the orange tossing that occured in the late 80's-my first UT/UF away game. UF cracked down on that crap cause people were getting hurt. The frozen ones were really nasty.

BTW, If you haven't been to G-ville in the past few years, UF police have gone nuts over open containers...it's not a ticket either.

ive been twice, a suggestion...wearing orange pants and orange suspenders with and orange and white tie is asking for constant verbal beration .....but it was fun, not really expensive compared to other places hotel-wise, we had 4 people splitting gas so it really was cheap and the tickets arent too too bad to get ahould of from scalpers for around/just under $100
