for the first time since MVP baseball. Should I buy MLB: The Show or MLB 2K series?

Question: Does the show improve your player ratings throughout the year if, let's say, Freddie Freeman is doing well in the season? I know 2k does.

no doubt the show. everything i heard about 2k is your created player progresses too easily which im sure some enjoy but there is just something about the show, seems to have the right balance of difficulty and good enough progression that you don't get too frustrated with it

Not really in franchise mode. The player will stay hot for most of the year though. You can download updated rosters online

kinda wish i had a ps3 just for the show

I had a small bonus check a few years ago and got one just for that purpose. The only games I've played are the last 2 versions, other than that it plays dvds.

I only have a 360, but I've played plenty of both, and to me they aren't as far apart. 2K's complete control on pitching is unique and useful. I love em both.
