Not really. Tenn was 8-2 that year, and its 2 losses were on the road to Alabama and Fordham. Fordham beat U.T. 13-12, and had a 5-3 record that year. Fordham was not a bad team, and a one point loss on the road didn't equal Fulmer's 20 to 24 point losses to Florida, Alabama, and South Carolina in 2008.Just think, with that mentality Gen. Neyland would have been fired in '34 after losing to Fordham. :thud:
Not to mention just beating Northern Illinois by 4 at Knoxville. The program was in a serious state of decline in 2008, not so in 1934.
