It was always pretty but we showed flashes of playing really well. Overall I liked how we kept plugging and pulled it out. Also it's the opener and they are always tricky in themselves. Add in the fact it's a sec opener on the road and we won and I am happy. One game at a time, and we need to play better, but I am happy and feel good about the season. GBO!!!!!!

Alabama had a very easy time with Mizzou.
UGA with their 4th string QB rolled to 4 td win over Arkansas.
Arkansas and Mizzou are better than South Carolina...
I've watched all 3 teams play today.
It's a win...yes.

Purely based on that, it's good. Big picture...no. It was not good at all, because we are showing the same deficiencies that have plagued the team for 3 years...

What exactly are you basing Mizz and Ark being better than SCar?

Arkansas went 0-8 in the SEC last year and fired their coach. UGA pulled away late in the second half but struggled mightily for most of the game.

The difference between SC and Mizz is marginal. But we arent Bama and that should surprise no one.

Yes there are things for TN to clean up. Yes JG was overthrowing open receivers. People acting like this was a loss is overblown.

You realize Arkansas hasn't won an SEC game in 3 years, and they had Georgia down 10-5 in the third quarter? I don't agree with that statement.

Purely based on that, it's good. Big picture...no. It was not good at all, because we are showing the same deficiencies that have plagued the team for 3 years...

There are several deficiencies I can think of that are no longer being shown;
1. We win an opener, and we win an SEC opener
2. We win two in a row over Muschamp
3. We come out in the second half and score a touchdown in convincing fashion, on our first drive

I only remember 3 glaring bad things from last night
1. Gauntano overthrew the ball on 3-4 game momentum changing opportunities
2. Banks' 2 unsportsmanlike's
3. Special teams, 2 horrible punt snaps in a row, and a missed 44 yard field goal

You can't base a year off a first game, and georgia qb situation doesn't look that good they just wore arky down more than anything. To say arky and missouri are better than south carolina after 1 game is silly at best. Missouri got clocked and bama lost their intensity in the 2nd half. It was a sec road win, we played good at times but had lapses. I expect us to continue to get better. Way to early for your freakout. GBO!!!!!

Well stated. There was some sloppy first week football across the board. Vols inability to practice was crucial. Huge plays by Henry, Brandon Johnson and final JG drive were difference. Much to clean up but winning instills confidence and let’s see how they improve moving forward. They could sure use Mays and Shamburger. Also a big banger RB like Crouch. Maybe run Elijah like Fridge Perry one time.
