What a crazy SEC football season. Alabama is in an invincible league of their own. Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Arkansas currently lack defenses. From week to week Vandy can defeat Ole Miss and Georgia- Georgia beats Auburn, SC beats the Vols, Arkansas blasts the Gators then loses to Missouri.

There is much parity which is exactly the situation the 85 man roster limit was intended to do throughout NCAA.

If Vols can beat a very solid Vandy team on the road - my commendations to the coaching staff and squad as winning the November schedule considering all the injuries is impressive.

I saw only the first half of the Arkansas - Missouri game and am dumbfounded by the final score I saw a few minutes ago on ESPN. If the vols end up the second highest ranked sec squad after all is said and done - that is a huge step up from 4 years ago. Just win tomorrow and let Shoop school his 2nd/3rd team defenses to toughen up before New Years Day bowl. It has been an exciting Sec football season with the 2nd through 14th teams being closer in talent than at any time I can recall.

And hopefully State Champs

If we win a bowl, thats 4 in one season...Awesome.

We can end up being the second highest ranked team and having the 2nd best overall record in the SEC and potentially go to the Sugar Bowl. We have a lot to play for tomorrow. GBO!!!!!

Yeah, im just pokin fun though. Im pretty happy overall with the season, other than the USC loss of course. Im pumped for tomorrow and would love the Sugar bowl bid. I wasnt planning on going to the bowl game this year because im going to run the marathon in Disney in early January. But if its the Sugar bowl, I might just have to make the trip.

Not playing devil's advocate, but if we lose are we still champions of life?

I'm full CBJ but I have to wonder where he grabs some of his coach speak. Own the fact we lost the east and controlled it until the SC loss, please coach,don't try to blow smoke up our a$$ with Champions of life. OWN IT!!!!!

Whoever is paid to monitor or script CBJ's pressers should be fired.:eek:hmy:

We all know that being state champions was not what CBJ meant when he boasted of "owning it" - however, there is always next year.

I don't think many people understood the champions at life thing because their lives are probably too consumed by college football. Football isn't everything to these guys. I mean it is. But it isnt. For example, they still have class. They have relationships, deaths in their families, money problems at home. Heck, some of them even have kids. To see students like Dobbs, JRM, Lewis, and Kamara (just to name a few) involved with things like charities and just generally being positive influences on their community... It means something. They matter on the field and off. I'd rather be a fan of teams that are average to above average on the field while amazing off it, than to have a NC with players that either don't contribute to or are cancers to their communities. Of course, that's just my personal opinion. Because to me, even though it's a football team, I don't think football is everything in life.

Does the state championship really count since the Vols didn't play Maryville, Oakland, or Whitehaven this season?

Seem to have caught a break with the schedule.
