Greetings Volunteers!
Though I am a Southern Miss fan living in New Orleans, hence my handle SinCityEagle, I was curious who here is going to root for the Saints in their underdog role against the Colts tonight?
When the state of La. and the city of New Orleans, proposed spending $180 million dollars refurbishing The Superdome following Katrina, I was aghast. I thought that it would be wasted...
A year and many hardships later, the stage was set. It was the first Saints home game in the Dome since Katrina. The highly touted Atlanta Falcons with Michael Vick, and a much hated Morton Anderson, were expected to pay tribute to the Katrina victims then easily dispatch the Saints. That night, in the city, in the Dome, the air crackled!
Then it was as if the best team in Saints history showed up! Atlanta, with all of it's talent, could not stop them.... On that night, in that Dome, an NFL all star team would not have beaten the Saints. Not on that night. The Saints simply would not be denied......
When I saw the degree of happiness rise in this city with every Saints victory, I knew that it was a wise investment...
So how 'bout it?
WHO DAT SAY THEY GONNA BEAT DEM' SAINTS? WHO DAT! WHO DAT!
PEACE- GO EAGLES!!!
