I disagree play these guys that practice every day, play walkons that will probably never see the field. It's not baseball like 162 games or basketball like 40 or more. You practice all year for 12 games. To lay down and let the clock run out and to not keep teaching is coaching malpractice.

My opinion
Only time you hire an unproven HC is when you promote from with in (like Fulmer for Majors and Dabo for Tommy Bowden) you know the system,players and can bring some continuity. Dabos Chad Morris great assistant not a re building H coach at Arkansas. Sabans Pruitt great assistant not a rebuilding of program as HC.

Speaking of quitting - wth is up with calling a fair-catch on the 8 yard line on the opening kick-off? I know Ty Chandler isn't Willie Gault, but when somebody does you a favor by not sailing the ball through the endzone you have to take a shot at a runback, right? If you don't swing you can't hit a homer. Pussified, imo.

I was shocked that he didn't try to throw the ball at the end of the game. He did the same thing at the end of the 1st half against BYU. Something is wrong.

Some assistants make great HC when given the chance. Some assistants can’t seem to grasp the HC role, and I think Pruitt is one of those. Kirby Smart is in the first category

Yeah, I noticed that one as well. Really hope he just lost track of where he was on the field.

Yeah, i thought he should have returned it since he popped a big one last week. Hindsight i bet he wishes he did, because he would have easily gotten past the 25, prolly much farther.

Tell the rest of the story too. Trask is a good QB especially when able to sit back and wait to find a receiver. Big guy, strong fairly accurate arm who is a college junior. Trask played behind the current QB at Houston iirc in high school. You are FAKE NEWS.

Totally agree Kirby got mostly the same players that he was coaching at Alabama. In fact I think his roster is a little better than Bama's this year.
I'm talking about a total rebuild like Arky & UT. There's too much on a HC's plate as there is but to come in to a dumpster and be expected as a first time HC to balance all of that is to much to ask. Fulmer may have told CJP i'll help all I can with my HC background if things get testy and how to react when the fans start up roaring. I do think CJP has handled this terrible start with calmness, almost to much IMO.

that he doesn’t have to tank the season to get the first pick in the non existent recruiting draft right????
