Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy will handle the offensive play-calling in the Cowboys' season opener Saturday against Washington State, taking over duties he'd relinquished after being promoted from offensive coordinator three years ago.

Wow, 3 offensive coordinators?

"Tennessee starters DB Brett Vinson and DT Donald Langley were suspended for the Vols' opener at UCLA for academic issue, coach Phillip Fulmer said."

They are not starters, but UCLA can think that if they want. Although Vinson could be a starter, he isn't for now.

Lightning doesn't strike twice, tigers will pull away at the end of the game

I've seen lightning strike way more than twice. If you mean in the same place, well, last year it was in Ann Arbor, this year it is in Baton Rouge. I still think LSU wins though.

Wow, 3 offensive coordinators?

The coordinators are only dressing out
11 players for the UT game this year,

Feature: Official Movers of Football :: This article appears in the January 2008 Issue of Commodore Nation magazine.

the rest are dressing themselves out!

"Nine different uniform combinations
will be available for the Commodores
to wear, as Nike has provided the
team with jerseys and pants in black,
gold and white.

Johnson instructed the team's leadership
council, comprised of various players, to
select the new look last spring.

"They did most of it, but I had some
input," he said. "It wasn't hard to sign
off on it. They did a good job."

Rumor has it Johnson nixed
the ascots, didn't have that
kind of money in the athletic
budget!!

Last year the Commodores would shout
"BCS, BCS" as they left the field after
each practice, some of the local Vol
fans would chant with them in support,
only they left out the "C!"

Part of me really hopes that LSU beats them bad so the SEC shows once more we are better than the not so Big 10 but then there is that small part that says it would be nice to see them get upset...I am torn!

Clearly, accuracy is not a strong suit for that source...

sorry but my 2 brothers went to App St. I also think it would be funny to see the coach Michigan wanted to hire lose to App.

GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!

Sitting in dorm right now.. I can see ASU's football field outside my dorm window, and there is a whole lot of buzz around campus up here in Boone.

And no, we aren't stupid... We know we're playing LSU in Baton Rouge. But that doesn't mean we won't pull for our boys like crazy. i'm overrrrly excited for this game! :dance2::dance2:

And yes, LSU could lay a little smackdown.. but hey, nothing to lose right?

That will be a fun game to watch. But I'm saving all my Saturday energy to root for Clemson. I'll be McLovin seeing Saban start with a loss.

You gotta pull for the Tigers! You know if they lose the Pac-Fudge 10 and Big-10 will never let us live it down. I wont no chance of anyone thinking that the SEC is not the clear cut best conference in the nation!! GO LSU

'Cept maybe Armanti's head...

I vote if it turns into a smackdown, we take him out and let him watch

especially if we're up by more than thirty... (kidding)

I don't know that we'll win, but we've got a few good running backs and we'll score. New corners worry me even though i've read that they have looked good. We lost the guy who shut down manningham, but i'm excited about it.

Lets not overlook the fact that the strength of the SEC allowed a 2 loss LSU to play for the national title last year. Its in our best interest for the SEC to dominate out of conference at all opportunities... even florida, gag.

The perception of SEC strength (rightly so) is based on our wins and losses... we don't need LSU to lose to Appy State. Its more likely to hurt us in the end.
