GMAC numbers

For a comparison, I picked Trevor Lawrence. Similar height, 220lbs, and hardly muscle bound. He moves pretty well as a QB and takes what hits the NFL still allows on QBs.

I'd like to see G-Mac weigh 215 at least and that's doable from 207 without a doubt.

I've said he's skinny but I'm coming around on him. If Heupel's ready, I guess I'm in.

That's a pretty good comparison, too. I don't recall Lawrence as ever having been as rail-thin as George, however.

If Gmac really is 207, they "just need" to put on another 15 - 20 lbs to get him in that 220 to 230 lb range. If it's really 197 lbs, that's 23 to 33 more lbs. Happy to see Faizon was 223 lbs. If that's all good weight, he's right about where he needs to be. I, too, am really surprised that their 40 times are identical.

He’s 6’6 buddy. For him to look the part that the “to skinny” crowd wants he’d need to weigh 250. 10 pounds on that frame isn’t noticeable.
Weight is always the discussion point but why not talk about his height?
Huge advantage being 6’6 and seeing the field over linemen.

We’ve had these discussions about 40 times thru the years. Any 4.5 time is really fast. A sub 4.5 time is blazing fast. 4.3 and lower you’re world class fast.

I don't like the pic I saw of G-Mac in FL working out because his quads and calves are just not there. There was a pic of Joey A at some point and his leg day work was evident. I like a QB to have wheels that can get a sneak done.

If he's really at 207, he should be able to add good weight to 215-220 pretty easily. If he's only 197, that's a tougher get IMO for good weight gain.

Heupel seems to be ready to roll with G-Mac or ready to roll the dice on Joey A coming back. I have to come around because that's where we seem to be.

Apparently GMAC weighed in at 207 lbs
Runs 4.53 and Benches 225 x 2

Faizon was 223 lbs
Ran 4.53 and did not bench.
In hs he benched 275 as a sophomore fwiw.

Be interesting to see what these numbers will turn into by July.
I'm 165, and have outbenched them both. I think it's pretty obvious, I should be starting qb this fall!

I believe 220-240 would have a negative affect on his performance. 210 after he cuts his finger and toe nails

I believe he had a TD run in the spring.

Nico had that kind of speed and he could make quick cuts.

The athletic ability of the QBs these days is crazy.
Nico was not a 4.5 guy. He's closer to 4.8. They pump these numbers up for whatever reason. When they get laser times, it's always slower. GMac is probably also closer to 4.8. 6'6 guys who run legitimate 4.5s are NFL WRs.

I would have to see that 40 time. Was it hand timed? 4.5 for a 6'6 white guy is booking it. He doesn't look that fast
I'd avoid looking up Ladd McConkey or Ricky Pearsall's combine 40 times if I were you. Might shake your entire world view.

The tiny bit we actually saw him this past sesson, he looked pretty dang quick to me. Also had some plays in high school where he outran everybody.

Lol, I know there are very fast guys that big but it's really rare. I've seen GMac run a bunch and id say he couldn't surpass 4.7 on a laser.

I am not ,at all, worried about his weight. He can, he can throw to the sidelines, he can accurately throw the deep ball, he can throw the screens, and he can run a way from most LBs and safeties. I look forward to seen him this Spring and Fall.. The QB battle will be exciting.
I remember back in the day we had a tall skinny kid playing QB. Peyton something was his name.

And then after that there was another tall skinny guy. Ainge I believe was his name.

And last but not least. That tall skinny kid Tyler Bray could really sling it.
