I wonder what vehicles they will stop making?

The Volt? Liberals will meltdown like the glaciers.

According to another article:

GM slashing 15% of its salaried workers in North America

GM said it would shut down operations at plants in Detroit; Oshawa, Ontario; Warren, Ohio; White Marsh, Maryland; and Warren, Michigan. The plants made sedans that have waned in popularity, including the Chevrolet Volt, Impala and Cruise, the Buick LaCrosse, and the Cadillac CT6 and XTS. Two of the plants made engines and parts for those cars. The facilities made some trucks, but those trucks are also made at in Mexico.

Ford and GM both have pretty much done away with sedan model. Ford is sticking with Mustang, Edge crossover, Explorer, and the trucks I think by and large.

Americans love them some trucks and SUVs

Yeah, "good" definitely wasn't the first word that came to mind when I heard this.
Why? because of the head count reduction? That was not the primary reason I said 'good', but I guess it would be better for GM to continue putting out an inferior product that no one wants right up until the minute they declare BK and close the doors on everybody.

Needs of the many.

You can't continue to make stuff nobody wants to buy. I love driving a truck, but to just putter around town I'll take an electric whine mobile.

"The production cuts come as buyers in North America have turned away from smaller cars to bigger vehicles such as SUVs and trucks, which now make up nearly 70% of total US car purchases.

Ms Barra said GM wants to invest in electric and autonomous vehicles, which are expected to drive future industry growth.

She is also responding to rising costs - including from new tariffs on materials such as steel - while preparing the firm for the next downturn, after US car sales peaked in 2016."

So can somebody explain to me why white collar jobs are cut due to production rollbacks? Blue collar Union/production jobs absolutely. White collar? No damn way. C’mon people if GM is blaming steel and aluminum costs on white collar job cuts I’ve got some ocean front land in Kansas to sell you.

Ok THIS makes more sense. 6100 shift jobs and 8000 white collar jobs because the aren’t building products people want. Plus they say people want to buy SUVs and light trucks yet they’re going all in on electric?! So they’re ignoring market demand? No wonder they’re laying off 14000 people!

GM said it expects the cuts in North America to affect more than 6,100 shift workers at the five plants, as well as more than 8,000 salaried employees.

I’m sure there’s plenty of “men” that want to be women that don’t support him. Did you call people and share tears when he became your president too?
Because you're sexually aroused by donald, does not mean that others are. His election just revealed the "economic anxiety" of America. But This past election cycle was wonderful, and 2020 will be even better....

You’re right it was wonderful. You moonbats made the average historical mid term gains in the house but lost ground in the senate. So the remaking of the judicial landscape continues as planned which was the real coup in the 2016 election!
