Glorious!

I know this clip has been posted here lately, but the most significant impact made was the death of the Bama strangle hold of their winning streak that we were all sick to our stomachs of.

Never seen it before. I was only a child when that took place. Didn't really catch notice of sports until after I watched the '98 Fiesta Bowl. I was still a UT fan, had already been planning on attending college there... plans fell through, though. Maybe I'll finish my degree there...

What a disaster for Bama! The weakside linebacker bit on the run, looks silly when Peyton passes, then the safety gets all turned around, capped off by the receiver using his own man and the ref as a pick.

Score: UT 6, Bammer 0, enroute to a 41-14 pasting.

Nice play.

Man that play gives me goose bumps every time I see it. That single play told everyone in Big Orange Country that Bammer was done.....for a long time. GO VOLS

I still remember screaming when that play happened. I had been waiting so long for the bammer streak to end. Plus I won quite a bit of cash that night.

I was there and it was my first trip to an Alabama game, I can still remember it now like it was yesterday.

A knife to the heart of the most hated of opponents.

Another play in that same game was just after Bama scored a touchdown in maybe the third quarter.... the camera panned their bench and you could see hope starting to glimmer in their dull, beady eyes.

THEN, Jay Graham I think busts out from the patented Tennessee trap play and takes it 60-65 yards down for the score.....and that let the air out of their little balloon.

I'll second Hohen's gratitude for a Friday morning pick-me-up. In one fail swoop, Bama's dominance and nearly a decade of frustration came to an end. Everytime I see that little shake-n-bake stutter step that eats up the safety, my eyes light up and my pulse jumps about 40 clicks. . . .just like it did 12 years ago. "Go baby, go baby, GO!"

You have to consider that by that time Tennesse just wasn't a game that we got up for anymore. Yall were just anoth Ole Miss or Vanderbilt to us. Of course that changed with Peyton Manning and 2 probations.

Nothing personal, Tusk, but that is a bald-faced lie.

I know several Bama fans that relished that streak while it was ongoing. I believe that you expected to beat UT annually, but I don't buy the fact that it was just another game to the Bammers.

We relish all streaks because we don't enjoy losing. We relished the 12 and 9 consecutive wins over yall, the 15 consecutive wins at Baton Rouge from '68 to '98, and our half a century over Ole Miss and Vandy. In '95 at Legion Field Alabama/Tennessee tickets were being GIVEN AWAY and there were plenty of empty seats. That has changed 180 degrees since then and I never lie.

Legion Field tickets were probably given away because of the venue...I understand that wasn't the safest of places.
