I disagree also. This is for depth only. Given our injury issues of late, it is a necessity to get at least 1

I sure would like to hear who is playing the two outside spots. If anyone says AJ - I will ask them to watch film of him running anywhere last year.

AJ and Herm are playing the Middle and Jaques and Curt are playing the outside. Because the VOLs will have 4 Lb's on the field at a time and there isn't much depth outside of the starters we need these guys.

That sounds about right. And yes, there would be no one behind those guys

I think he will do well on the outside with Herman playing the middle this year. Especially when we put more pressure on the ball.

He is plenty past enough to play on the inside in the 3-4. He's not an outside LB. Maybe I misunderstood your point.

Did you see him this spring? He's much quicker and faster. Made a lot of plays all over the place. I expect him to have a huge season. His body is a lot different compared to last year too. Guy is a lot slimmer at around the same weight.

We have contacted Carson and offered him a scholarship. I am told Carson is the last player we are interested in.

How do we get any PSU players when Dooley has been quoted as saying we are at a full 85 scholarships right now? Also, not sure going after seniors to play this year would do any good since they haven't been able to bond with the team or learn the new system. This would only work if we plan to run a system similar to PSU's. My vote would be to go after the freshman and sophomores to sign for NEXT year.

No way these guys are for depth only. If they land any of them expect them to be starters. The talent at Linebacker is just not very good at all right now.

Dooley never said they are full. They are at 82, 83 with Phillips. People are taking out of context what he said. He was generalizing that they were finally around the 85 mark, not specifically at it.

The jack position would be wide open... but I don't think any unseat Johnson/Maggit... Lathers possibly but you would then lose the heart of your D...
