TBF Dez and his attitude had a lot to do with that. But Dooley had a hand obviously. I think he played WR in college?
Dooley’s dad was apparently mentioned as a candidate years ago and his mother lost a republican primary for congress over 20 years ago. Seems the family are passionate about politics and he is following in their footsteps.
Recognizing his incompetence as a HC, I still never put him on the hate list. Another case of bad timing for a coach search and our AD played the genetics provides hope card and it was not to be. He cannot approach the Kiffin/Pruitt place in hell group. Does not make the losses easier or OK, but our incompetent AD put him in the Fail path.Maybe he will be a good public servant. He simply wasn't head coach material.
Like him or not, I do feel that Derek was simply in over his head. Therefore, I still think of him as a #VFL.
May be wrong, but didn't someone during his time here actually come up with VFL idea?
Always liked Dooley as a person, just not as HC at Tennessee. His parents were top-notch folks & his intelligence & outlook on history is admirable (how 'bout that, General Rommel?) My opinion is that he'd be a better Congressman than most of the clowns on the Hill. Just stay out of coaching, Derek.I could be completely wrong but I believe yes, he or at least the admin when DD was coach, set up the VFL program at that time.
Out of all the coaches after Fulmer, Dooley was never someone I HATED, he just got put into a place he wasnt ready for because we got dropped in the honeymoon with a very immature Kiffin.
I dont know if he knows jack squat about anything related to congress but then, Ossof certainly doesnt. Besides, Senators are not expected to know things, like house members are, thats what Senate staff are for. Senators need to manage experts and make decisions moreso than housemembers.
