Glad I left Georgia... [Derek Dooley running for US Senate]

Well, it seems that politics is an end game for many who can’t succeed in real life. Seriously, forget about parties, think about how many losers we have in DC who couldn’t competently run a lemonade stand.

So…it seems like the perfect landing spot for Ol’ Dools.

Not a good head coach, but I always liked the guy. His pressers were quality.
He was really funny and I think probably a pretty smart guy. However, I've heard from several people that interacted with him in various situations that he could be an arrogant prick.

So, yeah, politics seems a natural fit.

I remember going down the road listening to that. He caught hell for basically a Nazi reference but the analogy was spot on.
My post was referring to the "Shower Discipline" portion (that I THOUGHT I keyed the video up to playing 1st?)

When I heard that (the "Shower Discipline" portion) following an early, post-practice interview...I KNEW we were DOOMED!

Derek Dooley announced today that he is entering the 2026, Georgia US Senate race to unseat incumbent Democrat John Ossoff. Dooley, a Republican, entered the race after outgoing governor, Brian Kemp declined to run for the office.

I like/respect Coaches (like CJH) that CONTROL what gets out in public...and NEVER throws Players/Staff, etc. "under the team bus"...

I'll be surprised if Dooley doesn't win this seat.
He's known around the area, the family name is gold, he's a good communicator, and has a sparkling image.

Besides if it worked for Tubberville, why not Dooley...hahaha

Don’t think he was throwing anybody under the bus. He was just a sarcastic guy. Dooley’s act never was going to play well while he was losing though.

I really doubt the money is going to line up behind him.

Like him or not, I do feel that Derek was simply in over his head. Therefore, I still think of him as a #VFL.

May be wrong, but didn't someone during his time here actually come up with VFL idea?

I can still hear my visceral screams from that time. But in all honesty we had solid tight ends in that era. I’ll submit that was largely due to the talent pool though. Jason Witten?

He coached WRs though. I know him and Dez hated each other....
