Gonzaga has already won a chippy, contentious contest earlier this year and UT was thoroughly clowned on Saturday in Lawrence, we'll learn a whole bunch about this team's collective competitive conciousness tomorrow night.

I dont care if Tatum is a 'freshman' or not, he needs to be more aggresive, he has the skills to be our leading scorer...

Very true. After the game at Disney World, I looked forward to this as one of the biggest home games of the year. Now, I'm a little concerned. We need to win this game.

It should be a good game between two teams who really need another quality victory right now to re-start their engines.

We are learning more and more how Lofton and J.Smith bailed out Pearl with their 3 point shooting and J. Smith's defense.

I'm concerned. I just hope we play some defense this time.

I am pretty confident that Gonzaga will NOT shoot the lights out like they did in Disney. This will be a different game.
I look for Bruce to have this team ready to play, since they were exposed, AGAIN, on National TV with their soft defense.

I say Tennessee wins this one big.

How much can we really learn from a home game though?..

They're going to have to prove themselves road tough before they can take a next step up I think.

Until we play solid defense we will not win a big game against a good team, at home or on the road.

Maybe not, but leaving guys wide open doesn't help that cause. Its kind of easy to hit jumpers when you can set your feet, square up to the rim and shoot it, all without being so much as breathed on.

Genius. 2 of the best three point shooters in the history of the school are gone. Now our coach and his offense are exposed for what they are.
Nevermind he created oppurtunities for those guys to become that good.

Their defensive problems will not be fixed in a few days. The Vols home winning streak may come to a very painful blowout end. It will take some good home-cookin' to have a different result. The Vols don't matchup well at all with the Zags.

If they guard someone, a whole bunch. They couldn't contain Belmont. Even if the game were being played in Pearl's driveway, seeing this group collectively attempt to play defense would be encouraging.

Gonzaga has proven to be what they have been for the last 5 years: A tissue soft bunch of overhyped offensive minded losers who will beat a hasty retreat come March. If Tennessee can't handle that crew in their own building, they needn't worry about being active the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament.

defense and an outside shot. two things this team sorely needs to do better.

Hat, am i wrong in my assertion that there is no reason to come out and guard us on the perimeter, so the driving lanes remain well defended, thus eliminating or drastically reducing any athletic advantage we may have?

You are correct in your assertion. Nobody on the team shoots it consistently enough to warrant attention outside 15 feet. I'm not sure why anyone goes out more than 7 or 8 feet on Prince when he is in the game.

Who on UT's team would you consider a strong penetrator?

Prince and I can't really think of anyone else.

Tyler does a good job of getting in the paint and lofting 6-8 footers....and he's got great touch on those.

I believe Hopson is but hasn't shown it yet.

Tyler can drive a good amount of the time.

Ball handling is an overlooked deficiency of this team though.
