Bray only makes his first start... away... and goes 17/28 308 5/0 and people are making the "it's just Memphis"... this is the same offense that struggled for a win against UAB.

This is the same offense that has only put up 20+ points in 3 games out of 8.

Yeah, it's just Memphis but let's not discredit Bray.

Spot on. If Simms is the qb, we don't put up those numbers. Simple.

With all due respect, that's just false. We've played at least two teams worse in the last two years.

just different opinions.. we are worse than the last two Tennessee teams so I can understand why you might disagree. repsect your right to disagree..

I love him! So glad to see him have a huge game. Let's just hope it's not a "Memphis d" fluke and we can roast the Rebels! GBO!!

Has nothing to do with this Tennessee team. Memphis would beat UTM and would have beaten last year's WKU team.

Not to shabby eh? Bray looks good, showed that he can take a hit and will step up in the pocket when needed. Also, he will scramble if needed. Some of the recievers dropped passes so his stats should have been even sweeter:p

I'm talking about the one G. Jones dropped that would have been a touchdown. Still happy to be a VOL FAN.

Has all the tools, I'll be interested to see what he looks like against a real secondary. Memphis' is equivalent to Alcoa's JV team and S. Carolina's is probably near the bottom of all BCS schools.

I like how he slides around and moves in the pocket. You can't teach that...GO VOLS

Imagine how good he will look once the Oline can protect well enough so he is not picking himself up off the ground after every throw. I think the team was given a boost by the staff shaking things up. It was nice seeing Chris Walker show up for a change.

Go Vols

i think he has great presence in the pocket and he seems to be able to see the feild alot better than simms.i think if he had been starting from the get go we could have maybe won a game or 2 more...

Looked very confident against a pitiful D. Shocked he is the UT record holder for yards in a half. Second to Cromptons 305 in a half with 308. 40 at the half. What did Simms do?

In my opinion he's further along skill wise than what clausen and ainge were their frosh years. Ainge had happy feet and neither had the accuracy and moxy he has. I love when he gets back up from a hit he smiles and laughs. He did that against Georgia, SC, and now Memphis for sure. He seems to love football and that's great for a young QB.

We have our QB folks.

Bray has what you want in pro style QB.

Hopefully he goes the rest of the way taking most of the snaps, will come to pay off early next year.

It's simple the boy is a old fashioned gun slinger. He has no fear to rip one in there and I love it.

Has all the physical tools you can desire. We will see if he develops it with hard work ethic and days in the film room.

I know its Memphis but Bray looks good. Not afraid to step up in the pocket and make a throw, and has a hell of an arm

Bottom line -- Bray is the best QB we have. He feels pressure and moves enough to give his receivers a chance to get open. He makes quick decisions and has a strong arm. Sure this was a very bad memphis team, but Simms didn't look nearly this good against a pitiful UTM team. Simms is tough, but he holds the ball to long and is late with almost all his throws. He make our OL look worse than they are and that is not easy to do!

Very impressive first start from Bray. Barring a total meltdown against one of our last three opponents, Bray starts from here on out. That also includes next year.

He reads the field so much quicker, is a lot faster and more accurate with his throws than Simms will ever be. Another thing that he does much better than Simms is stepping up in the pocket when he is getting pressured from the outside.

One thing he has to be careful of though is he stepped up in the pocket a couple of times right into the inside pressure and it really effected his throws.

very impressed, sort of reminds me of a young manning without the happy feet....

Vols Sr WR Gerald Jones on Bray: "I wish I could start my career over. I don't think I've ever played with a quarterback like this."
