Firing Jones would be stupid right now, but I think we have to start watching and planning for the next hire. I'm not sure Herman is the next Saban/Meyer

ND will be looking for a HC. Maybe he can follow in Kelly's footsteps again. That would be a gift to UT as we would avoid his buyout and maybe hire a big name coach like Herman.

Wouldn't be so sure of that. UTjr is almost an impossible job at this point and the East sucks right now. Herman could have a field day here.

His career will be based on two parts. His youth and inexperience and silver spoon days of Raiders, UT, and USC. You don't stay the same cocky and immature working under Saban. To say he would continue on the trajectory that he was on at USC in stupid.

Well, looking at this salary he's making $3MM at Houston, and he has a clause that he gets a $2.5MM/year boost if the team joins a P5 Conference. I'm not so sure he'd want to leave that gig for the pressures of something bigger.

On the other hand, Fleck makes $800k/yr at Western Michigan.

Fisher to LSU.
Herman to Texas.
Strong to FSU.
Kiffin and O to Houston as HC and Asst HC/OC.
Miles to Baylor or ND.
UT keeps CBJ.

Young, fiery head coach; makes $800k currently at Western Michigan and they are currently undefeated and ranked 21st and just hosted Gameday. He is an excellent recruiter, has pulled considerable talent to that school and been tops in the MAC year in, year out in recruiting.

Has college and NFL player experience and NFL coaching experience.

I know it's hard to tell with these mid-major guys who make a splash, but he seems like the real deal. The players and fans absolutely love the guy.
